Mickey Mouse turned 90 last November! We were at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park on his actual 90th birthday to celebrate with him. Now, Disney is throwing a surprise celebration throughout the year in honor of him and Minnie Mouse! 2019 is commemorating the milestone birthday with singing dancing and specialty foods to enjoy. If you are lucky enough to be visiting The Magic Kingdom right now, then here is everything you need to know about the incredible Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration!
Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park The Ultimate Guide
Town Square
The first thing you need to do for Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration is to visit the town square theater so that you can sign the guest book. While there, pick up a list of celebration activities that you can do in the park. Then go inside to meet with Mickey and Minnie in their party outfits. Mickey and Minnie are taking time out of their busy day of preparations to meet with their party guests for pictures and autographs.
Move It! Shake It! Mouskedance It!
Now through September 30th, the new Move It! Shake It! Mouskedance It! takes over Main Street USA. This big bash is the epicenter of Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration. It rolls through Town Square and stops in front of Cinderella Castle for a full-on celebratory bash. A mix of Surprise characters will join Mickey and Minnie as they come down off of their floats to dance with the crowd!
The celebration will be full of surprises, including spontaneous performances by Main Street talent such as the Dapper Dans, Citizens of Main Street and more! While the party will feature new music and remixes of some classics, the spirit of the party will be more of a throwback to the old Mickey Mouse Club. This birthday-inspired celebration of America’s favorite mice is pulling out all of the stops.
Food and Beverage
As part of Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration, guests are invited throughout The Magic Kingdom to enjoy some special treats in honor of Mickey and Minnie. First, you will want to get a commemorative sipper at one of the quick service locations in the park. This sipper is shaped and colored like the Mickey Mouse we recognize from the current Emmy winning series of cartoons. He has a bow tie and a party hat, and he is ready to Mousekedance it all over the park with you.

You can also enjoy the return of the Mickey Burger. If you thought Mickey could be a little cheesy, you wouldn’t be surprised when they serve you this cartoonishly colorful Angus burger topped with Mac & cheese, American cheese sauce, and flaming hot Cheetos dust, plus bacon on a Mickey Mouse branded bun.
Aside from the former, which is available at Cosmic Rays, You can also pick up a Minnie’s Kitchen Sink Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, Now and Forever Slush (Non Alcoholic) at Gaston’s Tavern, and finally, the True Love Cheesecake, which you will find as a dessert option at Jungle Navigation CO. LTD. Skipper Canteen, Crystal Palace, and Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.

That’s so cool you were there for Mickey’s birthday. I heard there are rare character meets happening too!
Janine says
Omg, Dara we loved being there for his 90th birthday. I also heard about some rarer characters being there, as well. I think it varies at times right now. But like in the past, for MVMCP, we were able to meet Jack and Sally. So I think it truly just depends 🙂
William Holland says
Hard to believe it’s been 90 years. Have a great time there while we deal with our second snowstorm this week.
Happy Weekend, Janine!
Janine says
I know I can’t believe it has been 90 years either. But still Happy Friday and try to stay dry and warm this weekend 🙂
