I have shared numerous times here that I am trying my best to help both my girls (aka The Princesses) to be successful learners.
On a side note, this past week, I had both girls sick with fevers, coughs, runny noses and more, plus I was also not 100%, but I still have to take a moment to brag about attending Emma’s Parent Teacher Conference, where we were told she not only excelling in all areas of learning, but has tons of friends with all the kids in her class. Proud mama moment for sure.
Emma Just Loves Kindergarten! The academic and learning end, I can take a bit of credit for, because not only do I sit and do homework with her every night, but I also have been reading with her since she was very little.
Also, recently, I shared some iPad apps and how I have used them to help the girls with Kindergarten readiness skills/concepts. I honestly love using technology to teach and reinforce my girls educational goals.
On top of all of this, I am always on the lookout for new ways to help my girls with learning, too.
So, when I read my wonderful friend, Echo’s website and she shared about an online program, Miss Humblebee’s Academy that she reviewed and used for her kids, I couldn’t help, but comment how I would love to try this online curriculum.
Lo and behold, the President/CEO, Crystal Labbe contacted me and asked if I would be interested in trying with my girls for my honest review here with all my Confessions’ readers.
I basically jumped at the chance and couldn’t thank her enough.

Awesome app! I think the printables are awesome because they can put what they learned into practice.

I am trying so hard to get back into blogging and reading blogs…I need to find a balance…sighs.
I have found a bunch of great apps on our kindlefire that Anthony loves and there is also ABC mouse. I hear you, we want our kids to have a strong foundation and love of learning. If they fall behind, it has detriments for them in later years.
So glad Emma loves kindergarten, Anthony does too. Learning can be fun!!!

I recently won a set of word building cards from Ms Humblebees! You’re right… it’s an awesome app and I’ll be using it when my youngest gets a wee bit older.
Fabulous review! Your girls looks so sweet (and grown up)!
Wishing you a lovely day.

Janine,
Your kids are so smart and will continue to love learning because of all the great learning tools (AND MOM)they have been exposed too. All these things will pay off. I spent a lot of time with my oldest two kids and now both of them want to become doctors.
Thanks for sharing this great resource.
Blessings,
Diane Roark

I’m amazed at what is available for kids these days. We barely had the internet when my girls were little. Nice to see children enjoying learning so much. Those are a couple of very lucky little girls:)
Echo says
YAY! We love MissHumblebee too!

Love it! Academics are of high importance in our house, too, and with Abby being a lefty we need all the practice we can get! Definitely checking out those printables!-Ashley

Very cool. My kids are too young, but I’ll share with my brother. Tweeting.

This sounds like such a cute program. My daughter is in pre-school and she loves puzzles and I’m trying to help her with recognizing some letters. And I have to say that she loves any kind of app on my tablet. I guess that’s how it is with this generation! Every kid I know has a tablet that they have access to. My daughter would totally respond to the “rewards” this program has. Looks great!
Bill says
Great information for parents. Since kids aren’t getting the education they should receive from schools, this sort of thing is invaluable.
Happy Monday, Janine.
Rabia @TheLiebers says
That looks like such a cute app! Benjamin has been really into learning his letters and numbers lately.
Rosey says
This sounds great. They are rocking the song, and I didn’t realize their hair was so long! It’s gorgeous, Janine. π
Camille says
Aww, that’s so great that Emma is doing so well in school! π
I will definitely check out Miss Humblebee’s Academy. Kay has been getting bored lately. She just loves learning, and actually throws tantrums when her homework is done. I won’t complain because it’s better than throwing tantrums because she doesn’t want to do homework, right? Lol.
Dara says
looks great and like something Simon would enjoy!
Kim says
The apps for kids keep getting better and better. That program sounds awesome!!!

Your girls are adorable! I really like the info on Miss Humblebeeβs Academy and how amazing the learning tools are now. The video is precious. My kids and grandkids loved the ‘shout hurray’ part best too. Thanks for the great post. Carrie, A Mother’s Shadow

It’s wonderful that you are reinforcing school material with things at home, Janine. You’re instilling a love for learning in your girls that will serve them well. I wish these kinds of programs were around when my kids were smaller!
Stephanie @ Life, Unexpectedly says
This sounds like a great thing! Here in Germany, true learning (like letters, etc.) doesn’t start until first grade; kindergarten (in Germany a 3-year program with the last year being a part-time prep-program) is mostly about learning soft skills and play to no avail π But some of the excercises may be interesting for Violet.

I love the new look of your blog! So clean and crisp! It’s also not a surprise to me that Emma excels in Kindergarten. I hope everyone is healthy now!
Jhanis says
Love that you can check the progress report! Sounds like a great tool Janine! Thanks for sharing! And I just noticed your new blog design! I’m usually on my phone so I don’t notice things like this right away LOL Love it!

Janine your site looks amazing! I love the changes you have made! We are big fans of Miss Humblebees, princess and all. I am glad you enjoyed it too! The happy and you know it video of your girls jamming is the cutest thing ever!

Looks like a great deal considering what you get each month. Love the video. The girls certainly seem to enjoy it!
Aunt Gloria says
Love that video! It put me in a happy mood for my day! So cute. This is a great learning tool and makes it fun for the kids and parents too. I wouldn’t expect less than a successful school experience for Emma because she is so bright and talented in many ways. I know Lily will follow suit, but in a different way. She’s Lily, after all!
See you soon. Love xxxxxooooo
Kim @ HappyPrettyBlog says
This is awesome! We’re still in the early stages of learning here with Ben being under 2 years old but I still try to incorporate learning into our every day routine in some way. I also love using technology to my advantage to help with this!
Tamara says
Hey, it looks different around here!! See, I’m a day behind. Always here, though.
I’ve never heard of Miss Humblebee’s but it sounds exactly up Scarlet’s alley! And she sounds so much like Emma. Just well-rounded. She loves music class best, but also loves PE, art and library. No homework for us yet! I think that starts in first or second grade. But supplementing with something at home is something I think she could benefit from since school has no homework and she’s itching to do activities at home every night! Can you believe that?? How long will that last?
Alexa says
I love it! That has to be one of the best online learning tools I have seen yet.
lisacng @ expandng.com says
Yay for positive feedback Emma’s teacher! It’s always a proud moment when people say great things about the kids. You’re doing lots of things right! Great online curriculum you’ve reviewed!
Nellie @ Brooklyn Active Mama says
What a great app!! I especially love the printables and the progress reports. This would make a really great gift!
Tara Newman says
I have had a busy week and next thing I know…you redesigned? Looks great. This definitely sounds like a fun educational tool. I think my kids are a little old for it but I can appreciate a good online, kid-friendly learning tool π PS. when did I become the mom with the “older” kids???
Pam@over50feeling40 says
Always such sweet stories…thanks for sharing with the Thursday Blog Hop!
Brittnei says
Janine! This is really adorable! I’m going to pin this for me to see about this in the next few months. JR turns 3 in April so we shall see. I like that it has a lot of things that you can personalize AND I think he will benefit from the reinforcement of all the things he’s already been learning which is exactly what I would want. Perhaps they will let me review it in a few months? I guess there will be only one way to find out. π
The Pinterested Parent says
I will have to check this one out Janine. You know we do the ABC mouse & my daughter loves that, but this looks great too.

How come I did not see this post past november! This is what I am trying to do with my 2 years old, incorporate learning in our daily routine!

Glad you saw it now and hope this helps you out!!
