Back at Saturday again folks and this Saturday, the girls are again playing soccer this morning. We are also hoping to get to the movies, as we promised the girls to go see Despicable Me 2. Also, Kevin is again home on Monday, sure we will be busy and find some more fun activities to engage in. However, it seems like I blinked earlier in the week and somehow here we are again back at the weekend! Another great week behind us, but now it is time for another weekend.
Once again, I am adding my ten thankful things from the week here to the Ten Things of Thankful.
1. The girls enjoying soccer and wanting to indeed return for a repeat engagement this weekend. We may even sign them up for the fall if this continues.
Soccer Fun!!2. Emma, Lily and all her little friends enjoying her gymnastics birthday party. The party, pizza and dessert (Princess cake and cupcakes) were a success.
3. More hot, humid weather–yes I am crazy, but I love this warm weather and can’t get enough of it (except when the central air broke during it–don’t ask!!).
4. Because of the hot, steamy weather, we are so lucky to have access still to my in-law’s pool whenever we want.
Learning to Swim!!5. Going out to dinner using a $50 gift certificate with Kevin and the girls Sunday night, because Monday was technically another day off for all of us.
6. A quiet Sunday night getting to watch Food Network Star, HGTV Star and TrueBlood. And must admit that TrueBlood is getting better and better each Sunday night now. Totally hooked!
7. To wonderful bloggy friends who awarded me both a Liebster Award (thanks to Chamel from Chamel’s Creations) and also the Most Inspiring Blogger Award (thanks to Elena from Cropped Stories). I have been awarded quite a few over the weeks and will spare the masses more award inspired posts for now.

Liebster Award
8. My bloggy friend Elena at Cropped Stories, who joined me in my first ever giveaway on J9 Designs for a $30 valued Blog Design and also a $20 Amazon Gift Card, too.
9. Celebrating Emma’s 4th Birthday on Wednesday with our immediate family. Cannot believe my first baby is four years old. Time does truly fly!
10. For another lengthened weekend to spend with Kevin and my girls again!!
And now since it is Saturday onto this week’s recap for those who are catching up or missed a moment of it and some exciting offers, as well!!

That's awesome that you can use the pool whenever you want. It's been SO hot here, too. We have a membership to the town pool and thankfully we are right near the ocean, so we can cool off, too.

I know it was brutal here this past week and our central air unit died on Thursday. So by yesterday we were melting and thank god for that swim to cool us off!! 🙂

I love reading about your 10 Things of Thankful!! I need to link up to this one more often. It's just hard to fit it into my schedule sometimes as I don't like to post on Saturdays too much. I'm glad that you and the family were able to get out to dinner {love times when I don't have to cook!} and that you can use your in-laws' pool anytime you want. Plus, those pictures of Emma and Lily playing soccer are TOO CUTE! I love how big the shirts are on them 🙂 Enjoy your weekend Janine! xoxo

Thanks Kera. I too the larger shirts, because I figured if they shrink a bit in the laundry at least I wouldn't have to worry about that. And I know we are so thankful for that pool, especially since it has been over 90 degrees and quite humid for days. I here you about trying to fit certain posts into my schedule. I do Saturdays, but I refuse Sunday at all anymore. And I have so many I do wan to do during the week and just can't seem to get to them all myself at this point. So, I know the feeling!! 🙂 xoxo!!

broken central air…what???? that is horrible babe… I do miss having central air…but thank God for window ACs. I'm the freak at the pool under the umbrella or towel and not moving.
My recent post HOW DOES THIS WORK???
Janine Huldie says
I know Karen it was quite brutal and it had to be on the hottest day of the year, too. Got to love those umbrellas!! 🙂 🙂

Hi Janine! I was thinking about you in Paris and missing my blog buddies! I loved this quick catch up and looks like I missed a whole lot in just one week:)
The pool looks awesome and how adorable the birthday pix look – I see it was a bunch of fun:).

That's a lovely list Janine – thanks for linking it up. I do appreciate that you join in and manage to fit it into your schedule. Lots of people take the weekend off, so it's not the ideal time for a hop, but it works in its own way!

That's wonderful your in-laws have a pool. We have access to many if we go on base. But it's so official you know. Having clothes on to walk through, showing ids and such and then not wanting look like a mess leaving. I'm vain like that. I wouldn't care any other place.
My recent post 10 Things I'm Thankful For… (illustrated)
Janine Huldie says
Kenya, I with on you on being vain like that too and totally would not want to have to go through that either!!

If our air went out, we would have to move out until it was fixed. Our old house, even with AC, is pretty overly warm upstairs, but made bearable with fans. Without air, and no way to open windows, we'd suffocate.
Sounds like a successful gymnastics birthday party! My youngest will be 4 in one month, and I'm just distraught over the whole thing. Fortunately, he's on the small side and still looks smaller. Well, fortunately for me. He's not exactly happy about it. 🙂
Yay for swimming pools with unlimited access!
Thank you for linking up and supporting our hop each and every week.
My recent post 10 Things of Thankful, Week 7
Janine Huldie says
First off totally my pleasure and seriously love your hop. So, I am so happy to join and look forward to it. That is horrible about not being able to even open windows. When Kevin and I first got married, the apartment we rented had the same issue. Our lovely landlord went away on Memorial Day weekend and left us with no air conditioning (and it was a heat wave, too). So I remember all too well escaping and going to our parents houses during the say and we braved it at night time, but it was just us. Would not be able to do that now with our kids, too. Thankfully though it is fixed and we have air now!! 🙂

Janine – I swear I left a comment a couple hours ago. Please tell me you got it. :

Time really DOES fly and happy birthday (again) to your sweet Emma. The pool photo is refreshing and awesome (I won't ask about the AC breaking because ugh although I hope it's fixed now). And I am so addicted to True Blood. I agree that it's getting really good again!! EEEEP!

I know Kristi, True Blood was so good last weekend and dying to see how they will top it this week. And our AC did finally get fixed later Friday, but it as 100 degrees out and no AC for two days. Definitely quite gross!!

When my daughter was 4 and playing soccer, we had to have a big ol' bow in her hair that matched her jersey. It also worked to outwit her opponents, because who thinks the tiny blonde with the big bow is going to be a serious player? Boy, were THEY wrong!
Air conditioners always pick the WORST time to go out, don't they? Couldn't they do it in the winter instead? 🙂
