Back in 2010, I gave birth to my youngest two days before Thanksgiving Day.
I was actually sprung early from the hospital Thanksgiving Eve by my doctor. Why? So, I could enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with my new baby and family, too.
But for 7 years, my baby has never actually celebrated her birthday on Thanksgiving Day. Why? Because a leap year pushed her birthday off that one year to Black Friday.
But finally this year my youngest is my Turkey Baby this year and celebrating her 7th birthday on Thanksgiving Day.
For her big birthday celebration, though we are going to Disney World for Mickey’s Very Christmas Party for holiday Disney Vacation the week beforehand. See my youngest is Mickey Mouse obsessed. So, it made sense to treat her to this birthday/holiday themed trip.
Keep this in mind that when you are reading this today, my family and I will be just returning from this Disney holiday themed vacation. So if I am still a bit MIA here today, you will know why.
However, each year I ask my girls their top 10 favorites to see if their answers have stayed the same or changed from the previous year.
So to celebrate on my site, I wanted to share some of my baby’s favorites at age 7:
1. Favorite Color:
Blue!
This answer seems to have not changed from the year before. She still my little blue girl through and through it would seem!
While my girls are no longer Frozen obsessed, I know the root of the blue color love came from the movie, Frozen with Elsa wearing that now famous blue color dress.
2. Favorite Movie:
This one also changed from Disney’s Moana to DreamWorks Trolls.
Why?
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. What can I say, but still is the same this year, too. See this one hasn’t changed from the time she was a baby. She still has a very special place in her little heart for Mickey.
See this heartfelt crush has not changed from the time she was a year old.
Plus having visited Disney 4 times in the last 3 years has only aided to her Mickey Mouse love!
4. Favorite Book:
My girl is now in 2nd grade and is one of the top readers in her 2nd grade class. She even goes to enrichment reading once a week for the 2nd year in a row now.
So, makes sense she is happily loving reading chapter books already. But she added that she has a special place in her heart for Disney’s Duffy The Disney Bear; Mickeys New Friend. See we got her this book on our very first trip to Disney, 3 years ago. She still reads this book all the time and even brought it back to Disney with her this past week.
However, I asked her to give me a chapter book she is also enjoying as she is clearly also reading chapter books for her second year now in school. She proceeded to tell me that the Owl Diaries Series is still tops. Why? Because she just got to take out the newest in the series from the library at school.
5. Favorite Song:
So it appears Frozen finally has gotten knocked off it’s pedestal for music, as well here. As my girl shared that her favorite song here this year is from Trolls (her now favorite movie) with “Get Back Up Again”.
Well, we finally got this little girl to plain drink water. It took years, but still the girl who said that “plain water” doesn’t taste good is finally drinking water. But that didn’t stop her from adding that her favorite drink is Sprite, which she only gets to drink as a treat if we go out to dinner from time-to-time.
7. Favorite Activity:
Trolls, once again, was the big winner here. See all of the toys this girl has and she chose her Trolls Art Activity Set as her favorite activity to do in her spare time.
8. Favorite Thing to Eat:
Once a picky eater, always a picky eater! I feel like Friends’ Rachel with Ross, where she famously stated quick frankly, “Once a cheater, always a cheater!” But still this kid is my pretty picky eater. She does eat more and more each year. However, pickiness still reigns here. So, when asked for this year’s #8 answer, she told me chicken nuggets. No surprises as chicken nuggets, pizza and mac n’ Cheese are her go to food choices.
But still just when I thought she was done, she then added, “How about Mickey waffles?!”
9. Favorite Animal:
This one has remained the same ever since we added our dog, Elsa to our home almost 4 years ago now. See puppies/doggies seem to rule and thankfully our doggy, Elsa is still tops in her book.
10. Favorite Clothes or Toys:
She clearly was in a Disney, Mickey Mouse mood when asked as she told me emphatically that her Disney Mickey shirt and leggings was here favorite outfit to wear.

My “baby” was born two days before Thanksgiving too and I too wanted to be home for the holiday so I could celebrate with family. We ended up hosting for 25 people that year and I had brought him home from the hospital that morning — a bit crazy, but at least I didn’t have to cook or clean! 🙂 Anyway, happy birthday to your baby and happy thanksgiving too!

Awww happy birthday!! I’m sure you all had an amazing time at Disney, you just can’t do Disney and not have a grand old time, and celebrating her birthday there is the best! BTW Madison is in love with Duffy too. She would sit up at night while at the Resort and watch the bedtime story. 🙂

Aw, seriously Lily and Madison would be best of friends with this and so much more. And yes Disney, especially the Christmas Party was a blast. Just got back this evening though and truly bummed. Cannot wait to go back and now of course slowly though need to play catch up here, too!
