Maybe my luck is changing. Seriously for 35 years, I can count on one hand how many times I have won something. But recently, I will admit, I have won a few things that I have submitted my name for others blogs. I have won awards (no submissions for this one though), link-ups to co-host blog hops, a Christmas Card Design and even a Blogger E-Design Course, which just started this past week.
Well, I do have to give a shout out to Kate Hall from, “Can I Get Another Bottle of Wine with My Morning Quiet Time”, whose blog I won this awesome course from and Desiree Rasmussen, who runs the course. If you want more information about the actual course, please go here.
So far, I have learned how to find graphics, background images, fonts. Also, been introduced to a cool online program called, pixlr. And even have learned how to create a custom header and blog button, too.
I feel this is truly a wonderful asset to me, especially after my whole theme went bonkers on me last week. So, I am really enjoying playing around with the above program to try to bring a bit of pizazz and a new theme also to my site hopefully into the near future.
By the way, don’t ask me where I get all this time from, because between writing on my blog, keeping up with Hubpages, writing my novel and general craziness of my daily day with my family (husband and kids), I truly just don’t seem to stop. But I am enjoying myself all-in-all, so I guess that is all that matters.
Well, I decided that I would love to share the two new headers I have designed here now and also ask you please for your input as to which you think you would prefer to see on my finished page. Mind you I have a few more lessons to get through before being able to launch this new theme, but thought I would get some valued help from you my friends and supporters.
Without further ado here they are (by the way, they are just mock-ups, because the kids pictures for instance are distorted and still working on the exact image size I want there, but was hoping for input, whether you like it with or without my girls’ picture) and will include a poll at the bottom and ask for you to hit me up in my comments section, too.

Oh thanks Heather. The kids one is just a mock up and knew the picture is distorted. I am working on the image size now, but just wanted to know if people liked with my kiddos or without 🙂 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Oh cool Heather. I should have mentioned that and that truly is my bad, but still totally a work in progress, because the course goes through the next week or so with lessons and then can take as long as you want to punch things up a bit!! So this truly is the beginnings of this for me 🙂
Melanie Chisnall says
There's no comparison, you have to go with the one that has your kids….they're such an important part of you and provide endless hours of writing material!! 😉
JanineHuldie says
Thanks so much Melanie and I love my kids pics too, but wasn't sure if some would like it without. So figured I would ask and truly appreciate the input and advice!!

Kids, kids, kids. (And congratulations on the slew of good luck. Tides turn, and joy comes in waves. Ride it proudly.)
JanineHuldie says
Oh thanks so much Jane for your thoughts here. I am truly so blessed and just still can't believe my luck lately, because I truly have never had this kind of luck. If only I had it with the lotto, lol 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Kelly, I did try to pass a bit of my luck off on you yesterday and if you didn't see it, check yesterday's post 😉 Thank you seriously so very much for voting and for your sweet comment about my girls 🙂 🙂
Emily says
Your girls are so adorable that I think the header should have them in it! Believe me, put them in now while you can because when they get to be my kids' ages, they'll make you take them off the header and out of your blog altogether!:)))
JanineHuldie says
Thanks a ton Emily and after having taught middle school students, you are right and I 'd better strike while the iron is hot so to speak, because soon enough I will be the old lady who knows nothing, lol!!
JanineHuldie says
Thanks so much Amy and will be honest I too don't know how I do all I do in a day and am starting to realize that is why I am falling asleep writing at night!!
JanineHuldie says
Oh thanks so much Clark and truly appreciate your opinion here 🙂 🙂
Cari Lorine says
Janine, your girls are too cute not to include in your header! Congratulations on winning the course!
JanineHuldie says
Cari, as always, thank you so very much and can't say that enough 🙂 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Thanks Steph and if you are interested, you should definitely look into the one I am taking, because I am learning so much pretty much from the ground up. If you are interested let me know and will pass the info on to you 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Oh thank you so much Camilleta for he follow and voting too. By the way, I am seriously thinking about that lotto ticket, lol 🙂 🙂
Stephanie Sprenger says
Yay for your good luck! I personally love seeing mommy blogs with kid pics …it makes them more relatable.
JanineHuldie says
Thanks so much Stephanie and I tend to feel the same when I visit other mommy blogs. Love seeing their kids pics, too 🙂 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Thanks Julie and I already did change it, but was too late to post here. You know me I can't sit still once I get started, lol. I totally agree about the picture being too stretched out and was totally just trying to see who would like with or without my kids. I really need a break 🙂 But just can't stop, while I have all these ideas!!!
JanineHuldie says
Wow, Chris. I didn't realize that you could rotate photos on here, but thank you so much for sharing and will have to take a look at that. Totally great suggestions and really totally appreciate it!!! 🙂 🙂
Ruchira says
Girl, I am happy for you! Congrats on your achievements!
Good luck in your future endeavors! cheers! I liked the header with the kids 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Ruchira, thank you so very much and as always you are just too kind 🙂 🙂
Cyndi says
Awesome stuff here! I like the one with your kids, but is it possible to put more pictures of them? Like maybe a collage with that cool background? Awesome post, Janine and I'm headed over to look at Pixlr. 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Thanks Cyndi and thought of you when I first saw this program with how the instructor compared it to photoshop. I never did really use anything more than iPhoto and PhotoBucket on the computer, but am slowly learning. Kevin is the one that uses all the fancy photo programs for his job. So this is switch, lol!!
JanineHuldie says
Thank you tons Richard and can't quite say that enough. You truly are too kind and seems like the my kids are in the lead for the most part 🙂
JanineHuldie says
Thanks again so much Kate and after Cyndi got my creative juices flowing, I created yet another header with the collage idea of my girls and have been playing around with resizing pictures so as not to have the stretched out look. Seriously, thank you again and am loving the course, Desirae and Pixlr, too!!
