My Nails Obsession Begins ~
Back in the day, I was more then a bit obsessed with doing my nails.
I seriously was the pre-teen, who would grow my nails out, file them, paint them and make sure they were perfect. As a teen, I mentioned in this post, here, that I even owned a Caboodles Nail Box to keep all my nail polishes and manicure tools in.
When I first went to college, I even remember a good friend of mine that I made in my freshman year, having fake acrylic tips and having all the funky colors designs, as well.
I caved and got my nails done with acrylic and then had them this way off and on for a few years (the longer the better mostly). The last time I had acrylic done and my nails was after I had Emma, but before I had Lily.
I just got tired of the maintenance and also didn’t have the time to go get them done.
Plus, I finally got my nails strong and healthy again after years of acrylic being overlaid onto my real nail, which seriously weakened them for so long.
But since I subscribed last year to GLOSSYBOX and received a few different nail polishes, I have taken to doing my own nails again. I seriously am having so much fun doing my own nails and love they way they look short, groomed, but with all different funky colors now.
So, the moral of this story is I have definitely grown up, I no longer like my nails too long or fake, but I still love having my nail done up with different pretty polishes.
The first is just the plain nail polish color which is an amazing dark, vampy red color on my nails.
The second is with the base color being that same Victoria polish, but with OPI Minnie Dots overlaid on top on my nails.
And the third, I used the Victoria Polish again as the base, but Essie A Cut Above glitter polish on top on my nails.
This just proves you can use one polish as a base and change it up with different glitter polishes on top of it.
What do you think? Have you ever used glitter nail polish to change the appearance of your nails?
