Whether I like it or not, Fall is most definitely on the calendar in only a few short days here now. Not going to lie, this lady may doth protest too much where summer ending is concerned.
Still, I do enjoy the fall and even the upcoming holidays for cookies, baking and more.
As much as I love to bake, I also am a huge fan of being able to create a seasonally appropriate cookie treat without actually having to bake when possible, too. Therefore, I try each season to find a cookie and/or a dessert recipe that allows for that.
This time out with autumn leaves falling and changing colors, as well as acorns are center stage. So, it stands to reason that fall colors are in for desserts. Plus, I love the idea of acorns coming into play for a dessert type recipe.
That is why I couldn’t resist making acorns by using Nutter Butter Cookies. I just decorated them for the fall season.
How did I do this?
I used milk chocolate melts, as well as chocolate sprinkles for the brown fall color. I also added a touch of orange and yellow for the changing leaves effect with Fall nonpareils. Last but not least a cute acorn stem was made using pretzel sticks.
Decorating the Nutter Butter Cookies is half the fun here. Therefore this recipe tutorial can be a family affair.
So, the sweet and salty flavors are bursting here.

Omg, it is still pretty warm here. Although, we are having some of the remnants of the hurricane here in NY today. But humid and warm even though it is raining. But sure it will be freezing before I know it. Happy Tuesday to you, too!!

This is such a cute idea. My oldest niece and nephew would LOVE decorating these, I’m sure. I’d have to have help cutting the nutter butters though because knowing me, I’d crumple them at the same time. LOL
