This has been a very long, but good week. Finally over my cold and even got a flu shot (all of us did), but I was finally cleared after having a nasty head cold the week before.
And this week I even celebrated my one year blogiversary. Still cannot believe it has been a year, but so over the moon that I made it the year and now here is to the next year that follows, too!
Now, I want to share all about this week, but think I will let you in on all the good this past week, by getting the party started with Ten Twelve Thankful Things (sorry I had a few to spare this week)~
My Ten (Twelve) Things of Thankful of The Week~
1. On Saturday, the girls got their flu shots for this year at their pediatrician. I am so thankful for this, because I seriously do not want the flu to get either of them any sicker then they need to be in the cold, wintry months ahead. Also, quite thankful that the shots were free. One thing healthcare does do right apparently!
2. Being cleared to get my own flu shot. So that Kevin and I also went to Target after the girls did indeed get their flu shots to get our own, also for free (seriously free is so my language!). Even though, the wait was a bit long and the girls were bouncing off the proverbial walls, it is over and one with now for another year!
Target flu shot3. More Fall Soccer this past weekend, which actually found the girls having overlapping games. Both grandma’s came to help out and I got to spend time watching Lily’s game, while Kevin’s mom got to watch Emma play this week. Sorry, I know the picture of a bit blurry from my iPhone, but was the cutest shot, I got of Lily playing read light, green light!
Soccer, Red Light, Green Light!5. Happy to be a part of three separate giveaways this week, including my one year blogiversary giveaway, plus have signed up for a few more awesome ones to come now, too.
Yay for One Year of Blogging!!6. Along the lines of blogging for one year, I still cannot believe it has been a year. I am really so shocked and amazed at how fast that year flew by. Also, so thankful for all the wonderful friends and relationships that came from this past year. And now here is to another great year ahead, too, plus good luck to all that have entered and continue to enter my $400 Paypal cash giveaway!
7. My second ever GLOSSYBOX came this past week and cannot wait to share with you all the amazing products I got, including a few things I was truly in need of like an eye lash curler, new perfume and even new precision black eyeliner!
- 8. Silly times and a bit of down time, where Emma stole my camera and took pictures of herself. I had to share one of them, because I truly couldn’t help, but smile at these pictures!
9. This week most of the Fall TV shows started up and am thankful for getting to take time off in the evenings to actually watch a few and for my DVR to catch up on the rest hopefully this weekend. Will say my favorites by far this week (of what I have gotten to see) were The Goldbergs (I felt like I was transported right back to the 80s), Nashville and The Big Bang Theory.
10. For the awesome PinCentive Blog Hop linkup again this week, where I am so blessed to be able to go through some of the most awesome pins out there and re-pin to try myself. I am a Pinterest junky so this one does really appeal to me on so many levels! and if you haven’t joined, linking up, seriously what are you waiting for?!
12. One more for good measure and I am, of course, thankful again that weekend is indeed here and hoping to relax a bit. Maybe even catch up on my DVR now.
Now if you missed a moment of this week’s blog articles, here is a recap~

wow… a year! WOOHOO! Happy blogiversary! Red light, green light was my favorite all time game …right up there with red rover, red rover! I have done several blog a day challenges now and never regretted them…its almost a relief to have a topic everyday! Have a great week….love the candid camera shot!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Zoe and I know I love the idea of having a topic a day this month, because sometimes coming up with stuff can be hard for me. I have a lot going on here and yes sometimes I get inspiration right before my eyes, but other times I sit and think what next. So, thought this may be a nice change at least for October. And I know Red, light green light was so much fun, as well as Red Rover!! π
Lizzi; Considerer (@LRConsiderer) says
So glad that you’re feeling a little better, and that you and the girls were able to get your flu shots. Hope you’re all now protected for the duration of winter, cos flu’s no joke!
Glad that soccer’s still going strong, and by the way I am SO amazed at how many of these raffles/blogshares/hops/sponsors/affiliates/groups you’re able to keep up with! Your brain must be buzzing! I did one blogshare thingy ONCE and it just made my brain ache so much!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Lizzi and I now I am so happy that I am feeling better from the cold, but now onto that time of the month and migraines in a few days. So just trying to enjoy feeling good while I can. Seriously if it isn't something, it is something else!! But I know I am trying to keep up with all my giveaway opportunities here. Thankfully, the $400 is the only one that I am running on my own. The rest at the very least are being run by others with me being a part. So that helps a bit, I suppose. And thank you again for coming back to comment when you were having some issues doing that this morning!! π

You know, I've never had the flu in my entire life. I've had lots of colds, but never the flu. I give my boys the nasal flu vaccine (MUCH easier than shots), because I would never forgive myself if they got the flu and I didn't give them the vaccine – but I don't get a flu shot myself.
Janine Huldie says
I had it twice Robin-once when I was a kid and the first winter after Kevin and I started dating. It is miserable and never want to get it again if I can help it! Lily got the mist, but Emma had to get the shot, because she had the RSV last winter and was on the neubulizer. So they wouldn't give it to her, because of that.
Erin Callaway says
ha I love Emma's selfie! I love looking through the camera roll after the kids take pictures.
Congrats on an awesome year of blogging!!!! Looking forward to reading for years to come!

We still need to get the kids flu shots, but we got ours! Unfortunately, Cassidy had a cold and didn't tell them and got the shot. It was not pretty! I don't recommend it so I'm glad you waited.
Always in shock it's only been a year for you! It's been three years for me and I feel like it's really only been a year since I understood community. Still working on understanding all of the monetizing things. One day!
Beautiful day, right? Feels more like summer..
Janine Huldie says
So good to know, because I thought having a cold wouldn't be a good idea to get a flu shot. I asked when I had it still at Target and they told me to wait 3-4 days. Then, when I took the girls for their flu shots and told the doctor there that I had had a cold and was pretty much on the mend was told it would most likely be safe at that point. So, I just followed doctor's orders. I am I think just getting the hang of monetizing and seriously hope to make even more money now in the second year!! Oh and by the way, it did feel summer-like today, but I switched all the summer clothes out for myself and the girls. Couldn't take living out of bins anymore!!

OMG…I feel like I've been gone a year. I am so behind, but finally feeling better. I saw the Goldbergs…Tony and I were laughing so hard…wow….they sure did a great job of capturing life back then. Even better that it is based on Patton Oswald;s real life I believe. Yay…congrats on the year…woooohooo….it's a great accomplishment, right?
I will never catch up on what I missed, so just going to read one post per blog.
Janine Huldie says
I just left you a long comment on your latest and so missed you tons. Please definitely do not try to even read all you missed and just go forward from today and do what you can. You are still getting better and know one would hold you accountable for all that. Seriously just glad you are ok and love you, Karen. By the way, I think the Goldbergs may very well be my favorite new show. I laughed so hard watching the first episode, I was crying!! π
