Old School Blogging ~ Five Things.

Filed Under: Married Life, Writing/Blogging Tagged With: blogging, Books, Linkup, Movies, Passions

The good old school blogging tag is back at it again and last week I was tagged not once, but twice. And then the week after, I was tagged two more times!  Totally feeling the love for sure with this tag!

First was by my lovely bloggy friend, Lanaya at Raising Reagan.  And then came my equally wonderful friend, Alexa from No Holding Back.  Next up came my awesome friend Heather over at The Destiny Manifest.  and last, but certainly not least, my very good friend, Dawn from Dawn’s Disaster hit me up, too!

I had seen this post for the past few weeks, but somehow had alluded a tag by others until these four amazing ladies got me back-to-back at the end of the week and the following week, as well.  But was so happy to finally indeed be tagged, because I really do love this monthly challenge and look forward to it!!

And this month is truly a fun one with a series of lists where I share some vital information with all.  I know I do share a lot here, but have a feeling that there is some stuff you may not all know and hoping you will indeed find it here in this post today.

More Old School Blogging

Five things I have a passion for:

1. My family is a given.  Kevin and my girls are truly the best part of my day.  I just thank god for them daily.
2. My extended family.  Having my mom, dad, younger brother and Kevin’s parents and family, too in my life.
3. My online design company, J9 Designs, which I very much enjoy doing daily work for and with some lovely bloggers.
4. Blogging, which has truly opened up so many doors, including helping me launch number 3 and also for all the amazing friendships I have cultivated, too.
5. Helping my family to find and bigger and better on a daily basis, which will hopefully lead us to getting our very first house soon.

Would Be Lost Without Them!!

Would Be Lost Without Them!!

Five things I would like to do before I die:

1. Take my girls to Disney to their expressions seeing all the wonderful characters they have grown to love and adore..
2. Buying our very own house and decorating it to my family’s and my own liking.
3. Publishing a book in my very own name.
4. Being here for many years to come and being able to see see my kids have their own kids someday.
5. Someday being able to retire to a warmer climate in the winter-time, because I truly loathe and despise the cold, as well as snow.

My Girls Would Go Crazy for Cinderella’s Castle!!

Five things I say a lot:

1. I love you. (To both Kevin and the girls.)Take the girls to Disney and see their reactions to all the Disney Characters that they now and love.
2. I am sorry. (My mother taught me this lesson well.)
3. Stop it. Stop it now!
4. Scooch (at Kevin when he is being a pain in the butt!)
5. Is is bedtime, yet??

I say this quite often!!

Five books and/or magazines I have read lately:

Seriously, I read way too many blogs apparently to read a book lately, but when I did..

1. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
2. Sookie Stackhouse Collection (Because yes I am obsessed).
3. Sophie Kinsella Books (Loved all that she has written)
4. Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy (Yes, these books are just that steamy and Kevin thanked EL James at the time for have hot under the collar it made me).
5. One Day by David Nicholls

The Help–Still One of My Favorites!!

Five favorite movies {discussed in more detail here for FTSF–comedies rule!}:

1. Animal House
2. Weekend at Bernies
3. Ruthless People
4. Fast Times at Ridgemont
5. Back to the Future

Still Makes Me Laugh After All This Time!!

Five places I would love to travel:

1. Hawaii–Any island will do, because it is just paradise.
2. Disney–As I said I really just want to take the girls there, because I really think they would love it.
3. Ireland–My in-laws went right around the time Kevin and I got engaged and loved it.
4. Venice–Just looks like it would be amazing.
5. Bahamas–Been there on our honeymoon, but it was such a gorgeous place that I would not complain in having to revisit.

If I Could Go Back to the Bahamas, I Would In a Heart Beat!!

If I Could Go Back to the Bahamas, I Would In a Heart Beat!!

Five people I hope play this old school blogging game:

Wonderful Janine as you know I always love your posts and sharing in your family tales but this one has to be your best yet (for me anyway) .
I wish I had time to explore all your other avenues too but maybe one day huh (big sigh).
Here's wishing you another wonderful day and lots of love to you all from my little corner of Wales.

Awesome post Janine. Love it. You'd adore Ireland if you ever made it over – it's such a wonderful place.

Always really enjoy reading about just how much you cherish your family, and it's clear how much they cherish you. Does my heart good to see it working out, family-style – it CAN happen 🙂

SO with you on hating the cold and loving The Help

(but the 'shades' trilogy? Really? *sigh*) 😉

I hear you on the fund Sara and the number reason I have not been able to go to them or return to the Bahamas. Just too darn expensive and we need the money to buy a house now!! But maybe someday–a girl can dream!! 🙂

Oh I am so with you on traveling to Venice! Sigh….if only. I simply must go to Italy one day. I know Cyndi wants to go to Spain…let's all save up and meet there! LOL – it's good to dream. I have to tell you that I think you are doing a great job growing your blogging business. You have a fantastic go-getter and positive attitude, you're friendly, and you didn't give up on your new blogging business (even after some people weren't very happy about it, but verbal about it), and I respect that about you. Well done and keep going!

Oh that sounds absolutely lovely and would love to someday in the future meet up with the both of you, because I am just so happy we are friends and it would be awesome to finally get to meet face to face. And seriously can't say thank you quite enough for your kind words here. I really tried to rise above so much of it and just let it be. I am not a mean person or confrontational, so trust me I just did my best to just be me, as well as hope others who knew and were friends for me would know that my intentions were good not bad on this.

Thanks for the shout out and credit for teaching you to say "I'm sorry" which is a very important lesson to learn. Your family and extended family loves you so much. I always tell you the girls are so lucky to have the best mother (you, Janine). And you, Michael and Kevin are wonderful, caring kids. Hope all your dreams come true. And all your favorite movies are mine, too. Guess that's because we always watched them together! Love you lots, Mom

what a busy two days…I missed so much…thankfully I can catch up on all of it tomorrow. I always ask when bedtime is…OMG..I read Fifty Shades of Grey when it was just a fanfiction of Twilight…and it was much better then…I still read twilight fanfiction…and it is SO HOT…UNF… You'd be surprised how many stories start out as fanfiction…hee hee

Sophie Kinsella is great…I'm now reading all Debbie Macomber books…I need to get back to some good mysteries though.

So happy to read your answers for this Old School Blogging installment, as it was a fun month! I love lists, lol. Of course we have some things in common like usual as I know you read my Old School Blogging post a while back. I totally love those ruffle skirts that the girls are wearing to play mini golf…makes me excited to dress my girls in similar things once the baby is older!

So we both have Hawaii, Ireland and Italy on our lists. Awesome! If we could ever afford it, we should travel together. Can you imagine all four of the girls in the same place?? Holy crap, we'd have to give them their own hotel room, lol.

Now that would be amazing and would love to travel with you and your girls. We would have so much fun and you are right there girls would probably need their own room!! 🙂
