It is that time of the year. With back to school in full swing, I pack school snacks every day for both my girls.
In the past, I found packing school snacks to be a challenge. However, the more time I did it the easier it seemed to become for our family.
But how did I overcome the school snacks struggle?
Read on to find out now.
How to Pack School Snacks Like a Pro in 4 Easy Steps
1. Plan Ahead Always.
With school snacks planning ahead is key. For this reason, I always have snacks on hand for at least a month ahead on hand in our home. Trust me, it is better to be safe than sorry.
2. Shop with and for your kids.
Let’s face it, the school snacks you pack are for your kids. Therefore, the school snack must be enjoyed by them. While I understand the picky eater battles, I don’t want to fight my kids with the school snack. See this snack is a treat for them during a long day at school. So, I pack fun, kid approved snacks.
One such school snack is TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks. See TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks are most definitely kid approved in our home.
Why?
Because they are shaped like cute, little teddy bears that come in either chocolate or vanilla cake. The chocolate TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks have vanilla filling.
While the vanilla TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks are filled with chocolate. My kids actually enjoy both varieties. So, when sending this school snack off with them I switch it up when possible.
But these TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks are also mom approved!
You read that correctly. But how is this so? Well see, they are made with quality ingredients such as milk, eggs and chocolate. Plus, they contain no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors and no artificial colors.
Bonus, they are available t Walmart in the Cookie/Cracker aisle. So, this is a no brainer. As we shop often at Walmart as a family!
3. Find fun snack bags.
While I could send my girls with their school snack in a plain brown paper bag. This is no fun nor is it good for the environment either. It also isn’t cost effective in the long run. So, at the beginning of the school year my girls and I shop for new school snack bags. This year we went with with black, white and red with a dog design on it. See my girls love dogs. So, they gladly carry this dog themed snack bag back and forth to school now.
4. Add a fun snack note.
While sending a kid approved snack is always appreciated by my girls. They also love getting fun little school snack notes included daily in their snack bags. I mix this up for the different seasons or holidays. Right now though, we are still in the early stages of back to school. So, my school snack notes are themed for this.

My Mom always made us make our own lunches. I get it she was tired and I might even make my kids do it to… but maybe not lol. Finding healthy and delicious snacks are hard for me to find, I’m gong to check out these Teddy Soft Bakes, they look tasty and only 120 calories.
Janine says
Mary, I love your mom letting you guys make your own lunches and maybe I should reconsider here. But then again I am pretty scared of the mess I would have, lol!! 🙂
Olena says
It’s always such a challenge to me to balance between healthy and useful snacks and sweets my kids love so much. So I try to make something by myself, although it takes time.
Thanks for the ideas.
And I definitely have to try adding a fun note.

Happy to help with ideas and also with the fun note printable, too 🙂
