“Party Time, Excellent!” Wayne’s World with Mike Myers, of course gave us this wonderful party tag line.
It seems nowadays, there is a party for every holiday and occasion, especially with little kids and school. We were supposed to have a Halloween party at Emma’s pre-school, complete with a parade, too.
However, Hurricane Sandy had other plans for us. Yes, I know it is like the old commercial for Eyewitness News, “There goes that news van again!” Sorry couldn’t resist and if you are from the local New York area and around my age, then you probably remember that commercial, but if not no worries I think you can still get the point. Ok, sorry for getting off the topic a bit, but just couldn’t help myself, because even almost a month later Hurricane Sandy still comes up in my writing.
But anyways last week, we had to sign up at school to bring in stuff for the party. Kevin, had been home, because it was the day we got our new bedroom furniture from Raymour and Flanigan. So, he signed us up for Thanksgiving themed plates. I found some at Stop and Shop on the weekend for 2 for $3 and all was well with the world.
Monday came and it was party day. Emma talked about it all morning before her pre-school started (she is in the afternoon class).
And then it was time for class and her party. She was totally excited just like Wayne would say from the first line of this post, it was indeed “Party Time”. I left her a bundle of excitement.
When I picked her up, she had an Indian headdress that they made in class complete with feathers and a macaroni necklace with beads and feathers, too. All proud of herself and still all hyper from the day’s activities. Once home, she even shared both her headdress and necklace with Lily letting her wear it, but then just as quickly as the Emma giveth, she takes it away and of course Lily is crying from not being allowed to wear either again (sharing at this age is still such a chore).
So eventually, when Emma isn’t looking Lily has her own party with the whole getup (headdress and necklace). Lily knows how to party, just take a look at the pictures or her wearing the headdress upside down! And by the way, a little while later, the orange construction paper feather was ripped off and in pieces. True story, my kids apparently party hard!!
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!!

Our middle school was attached to the elementary, so I always made sure I walked through the elementary wing when there were parties going on. They always shared with me. LOL Happy Thanksgiving my dear friend!

Thanks and the same to you and your family Bill. I am with you on walking through and seeing the younger kids celebrating. Walking through the pre-school yesterday to drop and pick Emma off was a true sight to behold. The halls were decorated beautifully with all their artwork and the kids were dressed adorably in their headdress and necklaces. So it truly was a sight!!
