I have shared in the past how much not only myself but my family enjoy smoothies all year, especially the summer months. But many smoothies are sweet and yet still not calorie conscious in all year long. Plus, with back to school looming also thinking about easy, but healthy breakfast options for myself, as well.
And while I agree green smoothies are usually healthier for you, I am not a fan of kale or spinach that so many includes. However, I have found a way to enjoy healthier green smoothies without using either of those ingredients that I truly can’t stomach drinking here.
For my green and healthier smoothie, I use avocado. While I admit avocados make me think of guacamole, especially my favorite recipe which can be found HERE.
Just like my guacamole, my green smoothie uses avocado. But it also consists of pineapple like my guacamole recipe. However, my smoothie also has honey in it for that extra added sweetness. Plus a banana and Greek yogurt for a healthy win, too! Yup, I make a mean Pineapple Avocado Smoothie.
And being a smoothie, it is so very simple to make. I cut the banana and avocado into chunks. Plus, I use frozen pineapple chunks.
So this helps give it a more slushy and smoothie like consistency. But also helps to not have to cut up any other ingredient. Then, I simply blend all ingredient together and serve up immediately.
Sounds simple enough? But does my Pineapple Avocado Smoothie sound healthy and yet sweet enough for you, too?
If so, then follow my easy step-by-step directions for this Pineapple Avocado Smoothie…

I think it’s perfect. Those are two flavors that go so well together, and sometimes I agree about it being hard to stomach the ingredients in a green smoothie. Avocados are super foods!
Janine says
I know right? The green smoothies are sometimes so hard to indeed stomach. But not this as the avocado and pineapple are the perfect match! 🙂

Ok I totally have to try this. My favorite smoothie can’t be purchased here in Colorado Springs – and I’ve been toying with trying to make my own but had no clue where to start. This helps, and thank you!

You and so welcome and sorry to hear that you can’t get your favorite smoothie now though.

Janine,
I have some avocado in my refrigerator right now. I am going to have to try this smoothie. Avacado does not have much taste so I am thinking the pineapple is the main flavor which I love pineapple.
Janine says
Aw, yay and hope you did try and enjoy this one, too 🙂
