Star Wars Land Admission Strategy & General Overview for Disneyland & Disney World

Star Wars Land Admission Strategy and More

Rise of the Resistance

First off, Rise of the Resistance will not be open. That means there will be only one ride in operation for the foreseeable future in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. That does not mean there will be a shortage of things to do there. The new land will be a bustling market place full of interactive possibilities and lots of food.

Lay of the Land

The Major attraction that is opening with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This interactive space flight simulator puts you and five other guests behind the controls of the millennium falcon, and once you take flight, anything goes. Pass or fail, riding this will gain you a reputation in this corner of the galaxy.

Inside Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Disney guests will take the controls in one of three unique and critical roles aboard the fastest ship in the galaxy when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens May 31, 2019, at Disneyland Resort in California and Aug. 29, 2019, at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The shopping opportunities in the Black Spire Outpost will include stores where you can build your lightsabers and droids, and you can even adopt a creature to take home with you. Dining will consist of Oga’s Cantina and several counter service offerings including Ronto Roasters and a Milk Stand serving blue and green milkshakes.

Disneyland

Disneyland is opening Galaxy’s Edge First, and due to the limited capacity of the new land, it is available by reservation only. These reservations are at no additional charge, but without reserving your place, you will not be able to get in to experience it. Guests at the Disney hotels will automatically get reservations to Galaxy’s Edge.

Outside of Star Tours in Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World

As of yet, Disney World has not announced any such reservation system to get into their new Hollywood Studios expansion land. However, This Galaxy’s Edge is the same as the one at Disneyland and therefore has the same limitations for attendance. Guests will be admitted into the new land accordingly. This method of opening a new area is very different from what we have experienced even with the most recent openings with Toy Story Land and Pandora over in the Animal Kingdom. This first-come-first-served system means you will almost certainly have to be at the Hollywood Studios gate hours before opening to secure your spot.

We love Star Wars. Bev probably more than me but still, I do like it. Probably not enough to goto L.S. for Disneyland, but we do like it. 🙂

Have a great Thursday, Janine! The sun is shining and life is good.

So, as you know, we just got back from Disneyland on Monday night, and there are three Star Wars attractions already open and they were amazing. I can’t wait for the other ones, your photos look amazing. I think we might wait for the crowds to die down because the Star Wars people are REALLY REALLY into it, and we already heard a lot of talk about the upcoming Disneyland ones from locals and tourists alike. It’s going to be epic though, and I cant wait to read about your adventures

I am so glad you enjoyed Disneyland and what is already there so far for Star Wars. That said, I hear you about waiting until the crowds die down. Judging from Pandora and Toy Story Land when they opened, Star Wars will definitely be crowded, but even more so if that is possible as Star Wars fans are just a very large and massive group. Hoping maybe to get a sneak peek this fall, fingers crossed. But will keep updated here if and when 🙂
