Last weekend and this week were truly very busy indeed and will share all about it in my Thankful Things Portion of this article, as well as catch all up on this week’s blog article’s, too!
But now, since it is October and I am a part of the October Daily, cannot forget that today. The prompts for #19 and #20 are as follows:
- Write about something you believe in. It can be anything at all! The book above is totally something I believe in and just so happy to yet again be a part of and be in the #1 Best Seller on Amazon in the Motherhood category!
- Share what is in your bag. To be honest most of what is in my bag is quite boring, including my Coach wallet and my iPhone 4 cell phone. Also, have my GLOSSYBOX Guess Makeup bag in my purse, too.
Here now are a few photos for your pleasure:
Now, without further ado, I want to share all about this week and my photos, too, by getting the party started with Ten Twelve Thankful Things (sorry I had a few to spare again this week)~
My Ten (Twelve) Things of Thankful of The Week~
1. There was no soccer for last weekend for it was Columbus Day. As much as I love seeing the girls play soccer, I was able to sleep in a bit on Sunday, as well as not have to see Lily have her usual Sunday morning meltdown, when she can’t play on Emma and Kevin’s team. So thankful for less tears from her for sure.
Didn’t have to see this last weekend. So thankful less tears indeed!2. As crazy as Saturday was, the girls had a blast at the two parties they attended. First up, was one of the girls they used to go to dance with where they got to do all sorts of fun activities, such as bouncing in the bounce house.
Bounce House Fun!3. Also, they were able to get their faces painted and balloons, too at one of the parties. Emma was a butterfly and Lily was a Kitty Cat!
Butterfly Face Painting Kitty Cat Face Painting4. Tons of food was served on Saturday at both these parties, I tried to be good, but I definitely ate my weight’s worth in potato chips and dip, but seriously everyone is allowed to cheat sometimes.
5. Huge congrats and was so happy to make Judy from Judy H-J’s Thoughts on Monday, when I contacted her to let her know she when my one year blogiversary! Congrats again, Judy and was so happy that it was you that won!!
6. That even though Emma was sick to her stomach on Saturday night after all the parties and food consumption, that it was indeed short lived and she was back to herself the following day. Not going to lie, I still not a fan of waking up in the middle of the night, but am truly thankful that now that the girls are older, it is only when they are sick that this happens for the most part and not up all night with an infant anymore, because after Saturday night remembered how much I do love to sleep.
7. We finally went to the local farm here for more Pumpkin Picking. The girls couldn’t stop talking about being able to go and get more pumpkins. It was fun and the prices were actually pretty reasonable, too!
More Pumpkin Picking! Pumpkin Picking- 8. After pumpkin picking we went to Burger King and got free fries for all of us. They were free for the weekend to promote their new healthier fries
9. My dad had some health scares this past year with having had a heart attack and stoke, but thankfully he is doing well now and even celebrated his 64th birthday this past week. Happy Birthday again Dad (and Grandpa!).
Happy Birthday Grandpa!10. Playing hooky on Thursday. See I had a 6 month checkup at my doctor (all checked out fine with a clean bill of health!). Kevin took the day off to take the girls to pre-school for me, while I was at my appointment. When he got back and I was done, we to Panera for lunch and then to Kohl’s to use the 30% off coupon for a new skillet for the kitchen and new sheets in our bedroom. We saved a fortune and are just so happy that we finally got both replaced.
11. After we picked up the girls on Thursday, we got to take them to Hicks Nursery, which does a huge Halloween story featuring Otto The Ghost and even hayrides. We got to do both, but now life-size version of Otto, which Emma had to point out. But still 75 degrees, sunny and great Thursday afternoon activity made for lots of smiles and tons of fun.
12. One more for good measure and I am, of course, thankful again that weekend is indeed here and hoping to relax a bit.
Now if you missed a moment of this week’s blog articles, here is a recap~

Love all your photos, Janine. The girls look so adorable in all of them. And those Vera Wang sheets look beautiful and so comfy. Love, Mom
Janine Huldie says
Awe, thanks Mom and looks like you are the first comment today!! But seriously love you and thank you again 🙂 🙂 xoxo!!
Billybuc says
You have a vast and supportive blogging community and I hope they answer your call and buy the book. I think I had ten Hubbers who actually bought my novel; lots of talk but very few willing to spend $2.99. LOL Have a great weekend Janine and hug those little girls extra tight.
Janine Huldie says
Thank you so much Bill for saying that and I know it is so hard with trying to sell a book. So, I couldn't agree more. Have a great weekend now, too!! 🙂
Kenya G. Johnson says
I’m on my phone so I can’t scroll back up on what to comment on. First off Happy belated to your dad!
Lol to I think #1. I see little brothers and sisters crying all the time at practice and games not being able to do what their sibling is doing.
Love your cellphone case. I’ve always wanted to go that but I’m too clumsy with my phone therefore feel better with a bulky case.
Lastly, I already have the book – I’m about halfway through 😉
Janine Huldie says
Yay to being almost half way through the book. Seriously having Lily crying like, I felt bad for her, but like all eyes were on me. Thanks always Kenya and hoping that you are having a wonderful Saturday now 🙂
Growing Up Madison says
You sure have a lot to be thankful for. Love all the photos as well. I'm thankful that your dad is doing well also. There's nothing like having a scare with your parents. btw I picked up my copy of MOAM on my Kindle last week but haven't read it yet. Can't wait to read all the stories.

So happy to hear you bought the book and can’t thank you enough for purchasing it. Hope you enjoy!! And I know, I am so not a fan of seeing my parents get older know and definitely makes me think twice some times. Thanks again though and hoping you are having a wonderful weekend!! 😉
christyb says
Congrats to Judy for winning the anniversary contest! Yay for how well your book is doing, my friend!!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks as always Christy and truly was so happy for Judy. And now truly wish you a great weekend!! 😉

Here's where I admit something embarrassing. I got a kobo (I think) – anyway an e-reader two Xmases ago and I've never really figured it out – so when I read, it remains the old fashioned way. E-books, e-reading is on my list of things to figure out/try when I next have some time. I figure I've almost figured out Twitter, so anything is possible.
I love your phone case – and it looks like you guys had a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch! We're hopefully going next weekend 🙂
My recent post Life in our Dreamhouse!

I must say I once said that I would never read anything but real books. But once I got a kindle and read my first book on there, I was hooked. Thank you so much seriously though and hope you go pumpkin picking soon 🙂
zoe says
pumpkins!!! love em!!! Happy BIrthday to Grandpa and many years of continued health without the scares! I still haven't broken into my copy of the Mother of All… books but I am added to the throng that makes you guys so hot!!!!! Well that and it COULD have SOMETHING to do with the stellar writing!!!
Janine Huldie says
Awe, thank you so much Zoe and seriously am so happy that you bought it and hoping when you do read it, you very much enjoy it. You made my day with your comment and sending you smiles from me! 🙂

Some beautiful, beautiful Things in there, for sure. And I truly hope that your weekend is full of relaxation. My absolute favourite photo here is the one of Lily on the bouncy castle, and the way you've captured the movement and bounce in her hair. It's a perfect, transfixing image of SUCH fun 😀 Love these Twelve 🙂

Thanks so much Lizzi and I couldn't believe how many pictures I had from I loved from these few events we attended this past week. Not sure if I will ever have this many to choose from again 🙂
Dyanne@IWantBacksies says
Love the picture of Lily in the bounce house. And the ones of y'all at the pumpkin patch. I also give chips and dip a thumbs up (although I am currently addicted to roasted red pepper hummus and pretzels). Free fries at Burger King sounds awesome! I love crinkle cut fries (our Burger King blew away in the tornado, but it was a dump anyway and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have eaten french fries from there even if they were free). Great list, Janine!
My recent post It's Better To Carry A Tune Than A Grudge*
Janine Huldie says
Thanks so very much Dyanne. That us so awful about Burger King. My girls love it, because it is the only fast food place with an indoor play area. So it is definitely worth it, because they are entertained!! 🙂
@wakefielddoc says
my god, how do you do it?
I am now grateful that I only have myself to take to work on Saturdays… from the photos, the fact that everyone enjoyed the weekend is clear…but the logistics!
good week (even if it's so not Summer anymore)
lol

That bounce house photo is fantastic! And so happy to hear that you are healthy and your dad is healthy. Sometimes I just want to freeze time. Right now is so delicious. I'm cold tonight, though! If only I could freeze time to make winter stay away.
Janine Huldie says
Tamara, I am so with you on freezing time and not letting it get any colder then it is right about now. This is good enough for me and you already know I am dreading the winter now. Thank you though and hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. Off to 9:30 am soccer in a bit and just trying to check up before I have to run out!! 🙂

So sorry Karen that you are sick again. Is it just a cold or worse? Seriously hope you feel better and remember when I was teaching, I would get sick all the time. Sounds like you've all been having a great Autumn so far! I love your girls' hair… It's so long and beautiful. I'm waiting for my daughter hair to finally get long/thick enough so I can braid it and such!

Camille, Emma was bald until she was almost 18 months and only recently at 4 year old have enough hair for a braid. Lily, on the other hand, has always had a lot of hair, so thick!! Crazy how my two girls hair is truly so very different.

My girls are opposites too! My second daughter already has more hair at 10 months than my first daughter did at 2 years old, lol.
