Here is the thing as a kid, my mom, used to bake and do all sorts of fun holiday desserts with us. I mean it was cookies galore and more in our home.
One of my all-time favorites she used to make was Christmas Wreaths with Cornflakes and marshmallows. They were a play on Rice Krispie Treats, but with Cornflakes instead.

But the concept was to dye the cornflakes green and use melted marshmallows to make a fun, kid-friendly holiday treat.
I am not a big wreath person for the holidays though. Don’t get me wrong; we most certainly have a wreath. It happens to be with Mickey and Minnie Mouse on it. I know; surprise, surprise for the Disney-aholic mom!
Still, though, I am more all about the Christmas Tree if possible. You guessed it my tree is also Disney decorated, as well.
Back to the recipe at hand. So, I decided to make something similar to my mom’s past wreath recipe but using trees instead of wreaths.
Plus, I happen to enjoy Rice Krispies more than cornflakes. So, I reverted to using Rice Krispies for this one, as well.
What I came up with is seriously tree-rrific! Get it trees and terrific. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
But still, the original recipe lives on. However with this clever updated spin to capture this mom’s love of tree decorating, as well as Rice Krispies, too.
With a little help from a Christmas Tree Cookie Cutter and red, green & white holiday sprinkles, these Christmas Tree Treats are indeed the perfect holiday Rice Krispie Treats for all.
