It is Fall and definitely that time of the year to enjoy all sorts of ‘haunting’ Fall activities with my family.
Last week, I shared our recent annual visit to see Otto the Ghost at Hicks.
Well, this weekend, we returned and revisited The Rise of the Jack O Lanterns at Old Westbury Gardens.
If you followed my blog way back in 2012, you will remember me sharing all about this spooky night time trail/pilgrimage to experience all sorts of Jack O Lantern carvings lit up to all it majestic spectacular here.
[Tweet “See all the #halloween #spook-tacular #pumpkins with The Rise of the Jack O Lanterns…”]
In case you didn’t follow me back then and are wondering what exactly is The Rise of the Jack O Lanterns, here is a brief description from their official website:
“Lighting up the night once again this October is a unique all-ages Halloween extravaganza – RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns! More than 5,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns created by professional artists and sculptors are arranged in artful displays throughout a 1/4-mile scenic trail. The entire family-friendly stroll is a multi-sensory experience that is sure to be a lasting annual family tradition.
All new for 2014! Imagine seeing thousands of carved jack o’lanterns arranged within a variety of exciting themes. Visitors will see a re-creation of the New York City Skyline, favorite sports stars from your professional teams, amazingly carved images of famous TV stars, a giant graveyard made of jack o’lanterns, and a pre-historic arrangement of life-sized dinosaurs made entirely out of lit jack o’lanterns! The variety of themes are sure to impress visitors of all ages.”
Now without further ado, here is all the Jack O Lantern spook-tacular fun from this past Saturday evening’s adventure: (By the way these are all taken with my iPhone 6 Plus camera).

This is a fun blog hop with so many great fall & creepy posts! There is a similar event to your extravaganza in Sleepy Hollow, NY… its called “Blaze” and attracts thousands from all over. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and were so impressed by the artistry. Amazing what some people can do with a pumpkin, isn’t it?

Janine those pumpkins are incredible!! I so wish I lived there – Tucker would LOVE this (plus he and Emma could hold hands when they got scared and how adorable would that be??).

Janine,
I have NEVER seen so many carved pumpkins in my entire life. I do not think we have anything like this in the south. How in the world did they think of all the ways to carve and position these pumpkins? It reminds me of a drive through Christmas light show.
Love co-hosting with you!
Blessings,
Diane Roark
