Who Is My Secret Santa?

Filed Under: holiday gift ideas Tagged With: Big Bang Theory, Friends, Gifts, Playdough, Secret Santa, White Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Back about a month ago, Dara from Not In Jersey contacted a small group of bloggers that I have been fortunate enough to become pretty good friends with over the past year.

She asked us if we would be interested in participating in a Secret Santa for our close little group.  I was totally all in and so happy to be asked to join.

Once we all confirmed, Dara chose our Secret Santa’s and told us who we would purchase for.

On the morning of November 14th, I got this cryptic, but hilarious graphic image message from my bestie Lanaya from Raising Reagan on Facebook Messenger:

Soft Kitty-Sheldon Copper Reference!

I thought it was funny and when I commented back was told to, “Wait till later today, BooYah!”

Game on and still was clueless, though!

Around 11 am, my UPS man delivered a package from Amazon.  I honestly didn’t remember ordering anything and as I was opening was trying to figure out what I could have gotten, since I hadn’t ordered anything from them.

Once I opened it, I saw the gift card message:

In true fashion, my bestie and Secret Santa knows me all too well and also took the opportunity to bust on me a bit, as well.

  • The first gift was truly eaten by yours truly even before I actually got a picture, but was White Chocolate Peppermint Bark.  Seriously, this stuff has always been my all time favorite during Christmas time for years and one year even tried to make it myself (I learned to leave it to the pros!).  If you want a picture, will include the image from Amazon, because seriously this chocolate is long gone and eaten within 3 days time!  So far, Lanaya I would say you totally know me!

  • The second gift was totally in reference to her earlier message, because she gifted me The Big Bang Theory Kitty Socks in Grey/Pink Color.  Seriously, Lanaya knows my love of all things Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory.  I totally wore these sock the first night was lounging and catching up on my DVR’d episodes of Big Bang Theory I needed to watch up and catch up on.

  • And the third gift was truly the best homage and prank on me in years with a case of colors Playdough for yours truly. Not only did Lanaya read my contribution to the book, Mother of Meltdowns, but now she was totally joshing me with this gift, because as most who read my contribution know I truly loathe and despise Playdough after the ungodly mess my gruesome twosome made on that infamous balmy, summer day!  By the way, this case is hidden away on a top shelf out of reach of my little monsters’ hands, even though they kept asking if this was indeed a gift for them!
Mother of All Meltdown's-Ode to the PLAYDOUGH!

Mother of All Meltdown’s-Ode to the PLAYDOUGH!

You might ask, was I surprised?

Totally!

And was this the best gift I have gotten this holiday season so far?

Absolutely, without a doubt!

Thank you Lanaya and Happy Holidays to all my lovely ladies who participated.

I know Lanaya truly is awesome at this and seriously can't get over how much fun she made this. And the socks are totally too comfy for words and loving them! Hoping you are staying warm. Is it snowing by you, too? We are supposed to get possibly 3-5 inches by later today and coming down hard already now here. Thinking the girls may not be going to pre-school this afternoon now.

      • NuggetOnABudget says

        December 10, 2013 at 9:31 am

Ugh yes. It's snowing now here too and is only supposed to get heavier as the day goes on. Sofia's music class was cancelled as it follows the closing schedule of the local school district. BOO!!! I was so looking forward to taking her there today and getting out of the house for a bit. Dang snow. At least I have a bit more time now to catch up on my blogging though. I'm so behind!! Be safe and warm out there mama 🙂 xoxo!

      • Janine Huldie says

        December 10, 2013 at 9:37 am

So sorry Sophia's music class was cancelled and I know just annoying. But the way it is coming down right now, thinking I will just stay put, because so not worth heading out in this now. And I did so much yesterday and even Sunday that thankfully I am not too far behind now with blogging, because I am going to have the girls home for two weeks straight for the holiday break and also next week am volunteered Monday for Lily's class party and Wednesday for Emma's. So, I know I am going to very busy in the next few weeks for sure. Hoping you stay safe and warm now, too!! 🙂 xoxo!!

That's cool you did that! We just did a Secret Santa with all of our Thanksgiving guests…ironically enough, we did it because Hanukkah fell on Thanksgiving this year, but we called it Secret Santa even though it was technically for Hanukkah…we do all the holidays in our house so it was fun and appreciated by all.

Emily, Thanksgiving fell kind of on the late side and Hanukkah was definitely on the earlier side this year, but the fact that they occurred at the same time was just such a trip for me. We don't celebrate Hanukkah, but still could not believe that they happened at the same time and had heard this won't happen again for something like 100 of years. But love that you did a Secret Santa for Hanukkah on Thanksgiving night. Seriously, that is just awesome and and glad it was so much fun!! 🙂

Scarlet is sitting on my lap right now (and won't get off) and she claims that your daughters are cute twins. As if she's an authority! I keep telling her they're not…
    My recent post Invisible Mama.

    • Janine Huldie says

      December 10, 2013 at 4:00 pm

I love Scarlet and truly can see many times what she is seeing, because as much as they are 16 months apart, they truly are so close in size and could pass for twins. In fact, when we went to see Frozen, I told a white lie and said they were 2 1/2 year old twins (Emma is small and Lily just turned 3) to get them in for free.Seriously was not paying over $9 a ticket for them, because as good as the movie was, still wasn't worth $18 plus dollars for them!
