Hurricane Sandy. Quite simply, I blamed a lot already on this and have one more thing to add to the blame game, where this storm is concerned. It was the beginning of me eating poorly and not really working out as much anymore. The storm occurred right before Halloween. So, not only was I hosting half of our family once our power came back there power didn’t leaving us with tons extra food in the house that I was preparing, but I also had a lovely amount of Halloween candy to go around, too. I found myself eating just pure garbage at this point and not having time to even think about working out.
Then, of course, the month of November completely got away from me with NanoWriMo, Thanksgiving, Lily’s birthday and so much more. More food consumption. And then it was December and Christmas and New Year’s. Yes, the bad eating habits just kept on coming.
Well, now it is almost the end of January and weighed myself for the first time in forever last week. Quite simply, I just didn’t want to know. while the damage isn’t awful and actually only put on around 10 lbs. I do feel out of shape for not having really been as active as I like though either.
So, when Lanaya from Raising Reagan and Anna from Geek Can Be Chic came up with the Slim by Summer Challenge, I knew it was time to join and at least be a bit more conscious of what I was eating and try to also be a bit more active again.
What is my overall goal? Well, I honestly just want to look and feel good as we head towards the spring and summer months. So, I have joined these wonderful ladies’ Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/slimbythesummer/ as well as re-downloaded My Fitness Pal to try to keep up. So, if you have My Fitness Pal, look for me. My username is janinehuldie.
I am not necessarily looking to lose much, but just tone up a bit. To be honest, I have always been petite, but after having two kids my body will probably never be quite the same and would like to try to get my stomach and legs a bit firmer if at all possible. So that ultimately is my overall goal for this. Probably shouldn’t be complaining, because I am really not overweight for my height, but that said I just feel a bit more flabby than I would like to be from as I aid not eating properly and not working out much lately.
By the way, this week’s goal to not eat as much junk food as I have been eating and to try to find a few minutes a day to get up off my lazy butt and do a bit of cardio.
