Finally Spring Break Is Upon Us…

Filed Under: BLOG, Thankful Things Tagged With: Spring Break, Thankful Things

Finally, spring break is upon us here in NY with my girls having off from school the upcoming week and Easter next Sunday.

I will most likely be taking it a bit easier this upcoming week.  I have a blog post scheduled this Monday, but then we shall see what my blogging schedule will look like for the rest of the week with a possible guest post or two coming your way.  As well as a break from FTSF, this week and most likely will not be sharing my TToT for next week.  feels a bit weird and only took one other weekend off during the Christmas break, but do think I am going to take off next Saturday as Easter is also a pretty big, religious holiday for us and want to be able to spend it just enjoying my family as it was meant to be.

But before I get to my thankful things for this past week just my weekly quick reminder in case you still didn’t subscribe yet and would still like to subscribe to my monthly newsletter for all my updates and news, please do so now below:

Now, that I have gotten that message out of the way, please continue on and read this week’s thankful things to find out more now…

Ten Things of Thankful
1.  My dad being silly for his granddaughters.  Totally had me hysterical laughing so hard, that I was crying!
Dad Being Silly2.  Easter Peeps donuts.  Need I say more after Monday’s posts.  They donuts are seriously a fun spring treat and who could resist Peeps. Certainly not me!

3.  JulepMaven April nail polish.  Finally got to test drive the hot pink with electric blue hue to it! Yes, the pink girl here approved.

Julep April Maren4.  Even though it was supposed to be almost 60 degrees, Saturday was downright chilly, because of high winds.  So, we took to McDonald’s with the indoor playground for the girls, where they got Happy Meals and I got a yummy diet breaking Shamrock shake!
Shamrock ShakeGirls Playing At McDonalds5.  Sunday morning soccer, was still on the chilly side for Lily’s first day as a Peanut instead of a Little Peanut, but definitely warmer then the start for Emma only 2 weeks ago. So thankful for the small favors as far as the weather and spring heading are way now.
Lily 1st Day of Spring Soccer6.  Sunday afternoon, found me finally finishing the book, Big Girl Panties, by Stephanie Evanovich.
Big Girl Panties7.  Also, Kevin and I got to be lazy afterwards and watch the movie, The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson on our DVR.
The-Internship-movie-poster8.  #SpringPolishSwap that I entered at the end of last month and being gifted not one, but two spring color polishes by Paulina from colormebrave.com.  If you missed the post, click here to see more about this!!

9.  Spring is indeed upon us, which means that my Aunts from Florida (aka as the Snow Birds) have landed and visited us this past week.  The girls love both my aunts so much and seriously couldn’t wait to visit with them.

The Aunts and the Girls spring 201410.  My aunts’ generosity.  They not only brought each of the girls reusable Disney Store bag with all sorts of goodies, including the crayons Lily told us she was getting from them, but two adorable Easter Cookies with Eggs in the middle.

A side note by the way, I am on Instagram here and my hashtag to follow me is @jnine0712.  Most of the photos above were indeed posted on there and trying to make an conscious effort for 2014 (one of my goals for the new year) to use Instagram more then ever and hope you will follow me over there if you haven’t already!*

The donuts are super cute – my friend brought some over last week, but I just picked the peeps out 🙂 I love love love the Shamrock Shake and I'll be sad when they're gone for the year, but I'm so happy it's finally Spring here in the Northeast! Have a wonderful week and a Happy Easter.

I would so rather the week after, but unfortunately they always choose the week before here. I get that they have to give for Passover, too, but since we are Catholic and we celebrate Easter kind of hard having to have everyone to go back the day after Easter. And this year with the bad winter(snow) weather we totally lost that day, so just have to such it up and deal.

Hey there. Long time…sorry. I have missed reading your posts. I am loving that pink with electric blue hue. Your family seems so lovely and just a pleasure to take part in any kind of activities with. Glad your aunts are visiting. Snow birds that live in Florida, a state that seems to have only rain or shine. Love the beaches and warmth of Florida! I got the kids the peep donunts yesterday and they were in love. I thought about it for a second before getting them because they looked like pure frostening peeps from afar. Gheez, I would have been a mad woman by time the sugar wore off. Anyhoo, so glad to see you will be chilling from break and happy early Easter. We will be headed to MS to spend time with my mom and siblings. Have a beautiful weekend!

    Janine,

I hope you have a good week getting to spend a little extra time with your family. I love your dad will do crazy things for his granddaughters. What a great grandpa!
I have never seen anything like the cookies with the eggs in the center before. Are the eggs hard boil with shells on them? Is this a Italian thing or a New York things? I am just interested.
My oldest daughter love mint and McDonald's Shamrock shake. She had several on spring break.

Blessings and have a great week!

The egg is always hard boiled and it is usually in a hard bread, but this was actually cookie. I think it is an Italian thing, but honestly not sure 🙂

I love that picture of the girls and your aunts (doesn't Emma look a lot like the lady on the left of the pic! Wow! Strong family genes there)

Hope you have a gorgeous Easter weekend, my friend 🙂

Got to be honest, Kevin is working so it will be just me and the girls this week, but hoping to get out even if it is local for a bit after being cooped up all winter long. Finally was a warm, spring day today with gorgeous sun and now clouds. Can't get better then that! And hope you get to read the book now, too. Oh and the internship was definitely a must watch for Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson fans 🙂

Thanks for including that picture of Auntie Anne and me with the girls. I'll let her know you did that since she doesn't go online. So glad we had time together. Enjoy the Easter cookie. I think it is an Italian thing – the egg in the bread or cookie. And it is specific for Easter so it must have some religious meaning. I'll have to research it some time. Hope they taste good anyway. Enjoy your time off from the blogging….well deserved break. Have a nice Palm Sunday and hope the week ahead is fun with the girls at home. Love to all and happy Easter – a week early. xxoo

What a great week for you and I am happy to hear that you will be taking a little break. A well deserved one! It will be nice when the weather finally warms up for your girls at their soccer games. You will hate me after this comment but I sat through a baseball game and a football game this weekend in 86 degrees. It was hot! And it's only April! Looks like another good book to put on my Goodreads list. Maybe one for these days, I'll actually get to them 🙂
