Spring Playground Hijinks Circa 2011

Filed Under: Kids Posts, Writing/Blogging Tagged With: Park, Playground, Slides, Spring, Swings

Last week for Flashback Wordless Wednesday, I showcased Emma’s first visit to the playground back during the Spring of 2010.  I was just newly pregnant with Lily.  So, she wasn’t in these pictures that I shared in that post.

But this week, I am fast forwarding a year and posting up a Spring collage of both girls visiting the playground together.  This, of course, is Emma’s second spring to be able to visit the park.  She is definitely more daring by this point and going down the slide all by herself and loving the baby swing.

But this was Lily’s first time out to visit the park and she absolutely loved the little baby swing.  She didn’t really go on the slide all that much, because she wanted to stay on the swing.

Spring 2011--A Day at the Playground

Spring 2011–A Day at the Playground

As you can see, from above, it was a successful visit for both girls. And seriously can’t believe this was over 2 years ago.  I have said it before, but time really does fly by!!

And now that the weather is indeed getting nicer and we are finally experiencing spring-like temperatures, this is a true reminder that I do hope to get both girls out and about to the park more often in the upcoming weeks.  Emma does go daily during pre-school, but do need to get Lily there more often, because I know she would really love to go (she talks about the park all the time now).

Hope you did enjoy and once again Happy Spring from my girls!!

I love the collage of pictures! It's so fun to look back on times like that. I was just looking through spring photos of Sofia last year and can't believe how little she was. I also see that you had the girls dressed alike and I can't wait to dress my girls in matching outfits too 🙂

    • Janine Huldie says

      May 1, 2013 at 3:46 am

Kera, dressing them alike is quite fun, I do admit I am a bit crazy when I do dress them to match. But with two little girly girls they seem to love it and at this point no complaints. And I know looking back I can't believe how much my girls have grown in such a short time!! 🙂

They were both so tiny and cute! We've had a couple of warm days here and both of them have been spent at the park. I like the flashback photos, those are so fun for awww moments, aren't they?? 🙂

    • Janine Huldie says

      May 1, 2013 at 9:42 am

Oh they so are Rose and even my girls love looking back at themselves. Emma recently said to me (looking at older pictures of herself), "That was me when I was baby." So very cute indeed!! 🙂

What is it about swings? My kids never want to get out. In fact, they scream and holler when it's time to go. I had to bribe my 2yo last week just to get to leave, lol.

    • Janine Huldie says

      May 1, 2013 at 12:19 pm

Oh I know the feeling well Melissa and last fall after pre-school (there is a park right outside the school), Emma went to the park with me and when I told her that it was time to go home, she screamed her head off, too. And I felt like crap having to drag her out of there with all eyes on me!! So yes, I know this feeling quite well.

They are so cute! My daughter is so hyper, we visit the park all year round, even if we have to wear layers and puffy winter coats, lol.

    • Janine Huldie says

      May 1, 2013 at 1:22 pm

I hate the cold, so I guess I am guilty about not taking my kids to the park, when it is under 50 degrees. But I am with you on the kids being hyper when we go, Camille 🙂

  20. Kristi Campbell says

    May 1, 2013 at 6:04 pm

They are EEEP adorable!! When we can't go to the park, we go to the Air and Space museum. Because it's awesome and um, hello "ninee" (airplane in my kid's speak).

    • Janine Huldie says

      May 1, 2013 at 6:07 pm

Thanks so much Kristi and we haven't actually tried the local Air and Space Museum yet, but may have to take a day trip there this upcoming summer from what you just shared!! 🙂
