Finally, it is March and Spring is almost upon us. While I know the temperatures aren’t very spring-like, I still have so much hope that we are heading at the very least in the right direction season-wise. With the weather still be on the chiller side, we have yet to witness any flowers blooming here yet physically. But again hope springs eternal for that, as well.
But with the chillier days still occurring very much enjoying Netflix streaming as a family, especially Spirit Riding Free and all the fun activities to enjoy while viewing it.
What is Spirit Riding Free?
For starters, my oldest has been enjoying learning about American History. So, this show truly has helped bridge what my oldest has learned thus far this past year in these social studies lessons. See Spirit Riding Free is set in the 19th century in the small town of Miradero, Texas.
The main character is 12-year-old, Lucky. My girls instantly have connected with Lucky as she is only slightly older than them. Lucky is a brave young girl, who recently moved from the city. Upon, moving, she encounters Spirit, who is a wild mustang. She bonds with Lucky and even frees Lucky after wranglers catch the horse. My girls are animal lovers, especially horses. So, they cannot get enough of Spirit.

Moreover, the show deals with friendship with tween girls as Lucky befriends two girls similar to her age, Pru and Abigail. Both these girls also own horses. The friends have many adventures that they share with us throughout the series. These adventures and friendships also resonate with my tween daughters.
Plus, my girls are also still enjoying Spirit Riding Free. If you recall, we shared how much they loved this show back late last summer HERE.
But all this Spirit Riding Free watching makes us hungry!
So, I happen to shop often at Walmart. I usually stock up on Eggo Waffles and Reddi-Wip. My family honestly loves both of these food products. Very often, we even enjoy them together. See Eggo waffles are toast up quickly in minutes. Plus, they are warm, fluffy and utterly delicious.
As for Reddi-Wip, how could anyone not like whipped toppings! Plus, Reddi-Wip contains only the best dairy cream in original flavors. It also uses less hydrogenated oils than other frozen whipped toppings, because real cream is a top priority. So a win-win with both Eggo and Reddi-Wip.
How are we enjoying both Spirit Riding Free, Eggo, and Reddi-Wip together?
Again, spring is basically upon us, and we are patiently awaiting the flowers to bloom here. We love seeing flowers and more from nature in Spirit Riding Free, as well. But we’d like some flowers here. So, we decided to make and enjoy Spring-Time Waffle Flowers using Eggo Waffles and Reddi-Wip.
See we use an Eggo Waffle for the middle of the flowers. Then, cut up raspberries for the petals of our flowers and lime for the leaves. We use the Reddi-Wip as the stem of the flower. Once assembled we have a pretty, spring treat that is delicious, too while we watch Spirit Riding Free.

Yummmmy! Hehe. I’m *so* looking forward to the official spring season. Already we have forsythia blooming and eastern redbuds…and it was 68 degrees yesterday. I feel like a wilted flower coming back to life. Haha. Lovely fun thing to do with waffles here. 🙂 I’ll have to try this with waffles from my waffle iron, too. Omigosh..I need to get some whipped cream. Hehe. Have a wonderful week!
Janine says
Omg, 68 degrees sounds like pure heaven to me! We are supposed to get to around 50 here today and thought that wasn’t too shabby. But when we make it back to the 60s and 70s, I will be in 7th heaven! That said, hope you can give this spring-themed snack a try very soon, too! Wishing you also a wonderful week now xoxo 🙂

This is one of those foods I love but never eat, and there’s really no reason for it. Maple syrup over waffles…..I really need to go get a waffle-maker. 🙂
Happy Monday Janine! Spring is arriving here this weekend. I hope you see it soon.
Janine says
Aw, hope you can remedy this soon and once again wishing you a wonderful Monday and week ahead now 🙂

That is so cute and simple! Both ingredients are a huge staple in this house. Actually, all ingredients. We have so many berries and waffles and whipped cream that we love. I made such a cute video of Scarlet decorating her own waffle and I’ll put it on Instagram today!
Janine says
I cannot wait to see the video of Scarlet today. My girls had fun making a video to share their love of the products, too. It is up on Instagram, as well speak 🙂
