When is the last time you did or bought something for yourself?
If you are a mom, this probably would be a valid question and even sound all too familiar for you.
I admit in my youth, I was the first to spend money and take care of myself.
Once I got married, I curbed this slightly, but still would buy myself the finer things, when I could. Which sadly just wasn’t as often.
Then, I got pregnant and had, Emma. I barely had time to shower, let alone shop or do much for myself.
And then 16 months later (as most already know), came Lily and I forgot altogether what shopping looked like unless it was for my girls in the form of diapers, formula or wipes.
Now, we are saving for a house and once again I am trying my hardest to save and not spend.
But every once in awhile, I need to be a bit selfish and think of me. I mean if I don’t, who will?
Also this past summer, I slacked on working out to be extremely honest here. With Kevin being home an extra day and busy working all day long the rest of the week many days running my two sites, working out took a back burner.
Thankfully, I didn’t really gain much in the way of weight, but I definitely felt less toned and not in as good shape. I have said here on more then one occasion that that I want to take care of myself and be healthy for years to come for my kids.
And yet blogging does come with its benefits (even if the long hours have not helped in keeping up with staying in shape recently), I was afforded a few amazing opportunities over the last few weeks alone that I proud to share with you today that is helping to make me a healthier version of myself.
First one came in the form of EnergyBits, which are 100% organically grown spirulina algae. This form of algae is a plant, not made in a lab and has the highest concentration of protein in the world with 40 vitamins/minerals, as well as high concentration of antioxidants, electrolytes, and Omega 3. Bottom line, you swallow a handful of these (about 30 bits per serving) in the morning or even prior to a workout to get a steady stream of energy without any sugar, caffeine or chemicals. And you are full for hours. Only 1 calorie per tab, so that is about 30 calories per serving of 30 bits!
I received a tin of these and must tell you I tried them myself and a wonderful, healthy alternative if you are trying to get a bit more energy. And to be honest, I admitted recently I am a night person, but also up early working in the morning. This really has helped a great deal with giving me that extra energy boost on the dreaded early morning wake up calls for me.EnergyBits!!
And thanks to Energybits, one of my lucky readers will win a gift pack that contains a mini tin of ENERGYbits® which has 75 tabs in it (2.5 servings of 30 tabs). Also they are extending a 10% DISCOUNT CODE to my readers toget 10% off any of our bags of algae! The discount code is BLOG. Please don’t forget to enter the rafflecopter below.
The second came from a company called Ellie, which designs active wear for women that incorporates both fashion and fitness, where you can shop for one piece at a time or sign up for a monthly subscription.
I was asked to become an affiliate for them and when I signed up was allowed to pick out a brand new outfit for working out, but could also wear this same outfit going out to shop in (really very fashion forward and versatile). Seriously love the leggings and purple activewear top I choose and couldn’t be happier.
And if you sign up at their website now, you can get 20% Discount from Ellie. Look good and feel great!
See the picture below of the outfit that was given for free by them now. Thanks Ellie!!
The third came in the form of a Beauty Subscription service, known as GLOSSYBOX, which I have shared with you before. Yes, I also was asked to become an affiliate with them and fell head over heels in love with their service (yes I know I just can’t stop raving about this).
I caved and did a three month subscription for myself there. I will tell you I couldn’t be happier.
I received my first beauty box and stay tuned tomorrow I am going to unveil my September GLOSSYBOX with you and just all that I did receive for a truly low rate.
All these things, have definitely been a blessing in disguise and made for a healthier, saner me for sure.
Yes, after all this I too am still a work in progress, but like I said I have been fortunate to get to know better some wonderful companies and products from my affiliations. And have just been so happy to share them with you today.
Now, please be sure to enter EnergyBits contest in the below Rafflecopter. *Please note the giveaway is only in the US and all entries will be validated.*
