The Ten Thankful Things of Lily ~ The Third Birthday Edition

Happy Saturday all and today just so happens to be Lily’s 3rd Birthday today.  We are having a big family party tonight, complete with a Princess Sophia Carvel Ice Cream Cake and Cupcakes to match, as per Lily’s request.  

So since it is Lily’s birthday, I thought instead of my usual Thankful Things from the previous week, I would share the Ten Thankful Things of Lily today.

And I still truly can’t believe my baby came into our lives 3 years ago.  She had my heart from the beginning.  

Since we are talking about beginnings that is exactly what I am going to do now!

1. It all started in March of 2010 when I found out that I was pregnant with her. Can anyone say shock to my system.  See Emma only being 8 months old, still not sleeping through the night, but probably the best surprise in the end that I ever could have gotten.

2. It was then thankfully followed by an uneventful pregnancy for 5 months, other then morning sickness in the form of all day and night nausea. Pic of me 5 months pregnant.

3. And even though I had a scare half way through with placenta previa and was put on bedrest, after being hospitalized, that she stayed in for 39 weeks, when she was born healthy and perfect. Link to birth story from Friday.

4. Was such a good baby. After having colic with Emma, she took only cat naps during the day and slept practically through the night by a month old.

5. For Lily smiles at only 6 weeks old!

6. Thankful also for a typical 1st year with Lily and the fact the she walked for the first time days before she turned 1!

7. Lily spoke in phrases with “I got it” at 13 months old.

8. How sweet and loving she is with Emma her big sister.

9. How easily she potty trained right around the 2 year old mark.

10. For how much Lily loves pre-school, knows her ABCs and can count now to 15.  Watch the video below of her singing the Alphabet Song! By the way, the red dyed lips were from fruit punch she had a school, because we had just picked her up from pre-school when this video was taken.

For all the reasons and so many more, Mommy and Daddy are so thankful for you and love, Lily Ann! Happy 3rd Birthday Munchkin!!!

    Yay! First comment! Lol. I'm up early for some blog time and I had to read your blog first because I knew it was going to be all about Lily! I love the pictures of her growing up {that one in the Christmas outfit with her tiny mouth!} and enjoyed reading her 10 Things of Thankful. That video is adorable and I can't wait to show it to Sofia later on because she loves seeing pictures of videos of the girls. Might help her along with her ABCs, too!       Thank you Kera for stopping by while the kids were asleep this morning. I am totally commenting back while mine are still asleep, too now. I have so much to do today, but you know I need to get my blogging time in. By the way, I am always showing the girls pictures and the videos (too) of Sophia and Eliana when you post and they seriously can't get enough of them either.     Janine, I've been SO EXCITED to see what you did with this, and you didn't disappoint AT ALL. Lily is SO gorgeous and completely adorable. I LOVE her baby smile photo, and the cute pic at the end (where you can just TELL she knows the camera thinks she's gorgeous). The video though – wow! What a wonderful, clever girl! Her accent is utterly, utterly adorable and I want to give her a big hug well done for being so lovely and knowing the whole alphabet 😀

      Lizzi, I was so excited for this post. When I saw the number #25 was this week, too, I knew I had to go all out and seriously loved, loved, loved sharing all about Lily on her birthday. And when Kevin got the video of her, I knew I had to share it. She truly makes me smile when she sings and now she even sings and knows most of the words for Katy Perry's "Roar" from soccer, too. So may need to try to get a video of that for the future. And I have a really cute video of Emma too singing. So, possibly should post that up soon, too. But seriously, love Saturdays, you and the TToT hop, so totally my pleasure for sharing this one today. Thank you as always for making my weekend that much brighter!! 🙂

        Miss you all already too. Glad I got to wish Lily happy BD by phone….made my day to hear her voice! I saw the cake on Michael's FB. It was beautiful and I'm sure it made her happy. I'm off to the Auto Train shortly and will keep you all posted as I travel toward Tarpon Springs. It's freezing here in VA so will be glad to head south to warmer temps. Love to all…….xxxxoooo

    I love the chance to see her grow up like this. My "baby" is now 9, and it seems like yesterday she was in that becoming-a-big-girl phase around age 3. It's only just begun.
