I had seen quite a bit online about the Scary Mommy Thanksgiving Project in the last few weeks, but will admit my house has been under siege with viruses galore.
I was honestly thankful that I had pre-scheduled my blog posts, because I just couldn’t keep going most nights when I would get most of my work done and on top of it even if I could get much done during the day, I had one of my kids home with my due to these germs over a two week period, so trust me not much was truly get done around these parts.
So, every time, I wanted to try to get to write or catch up, I was truly just unable to catch a break on this. Believe me I know I shouldn’t complain at all, but seriously has been a few trying weeks around here.
However, I was honestly so thankful this weekend, when I saw Crystal from Mommifried, who by the way is the fearless leader of the book I was graciously asked to be a part of the Mother of All Meltdowns, having a whole donation page put together on her blog for all of to do our part to help out.
Myself and many others donated already. I just found out all our donations already went to support three whole separate families.
Hearing this, I was truly humbled to know that my small donation alongside of so many other wonderful people, who also donated could make this much of a difference.
Many have already heard of this project though if you haven’t, please read on now to learn more about it.

The Scary Mommy Thanksgiving Project
It started back in 2011, when Jill Smokler of Scary Mommy wrote up a simple post that discussed the financial hardships that the people in her own community were experiencing. A simple meal on the table (let alone Thanksgiving) wasn’t possible for many.
And through this the Thanksgiving Project was born, where she raised over $20,000 that year alone.
This is now the third year strong for this amazing program and with only 2 days left (closes on Friday), I hope you will please join us in donating and giving something back to those who are indeed in need now more then ever, if you haven’t already.
Like I said we have helped a total of three families so far, but so many more still need help.
And if you would indeed like to help, please head over to the MOAM website (to donate with us) or directly through Scary Mommy ($50 supports one whole family).
However, if you can’t afford to donate (I know times are tough for so many right now), I would just ask that you please just take a quick minute to share this post.
Thank you!

Thanks so much Bill, but I have felt so guilty that I haven't been able to get my butt in gear sooner. Seriously, with us all being sick, I was so meaning to do something sooner and just glad I could do my small part now 🙂

As soon as I heard about this I had to go over and donate! I am one for never taking my blessings for granted and I believe in putting some of those blessings right back out into the universe. This is an amazing project and it is astounding at how many people are contributing! It gives me the best feeling to know that there is still so much good in the world! Thanks for helping promote!
