Back at Saturday again folks. Seems like I blinked on Monday and somehow here we are! Great week behind us, but now it is time for another weekend.
Before I go any further, I was blog reading this morning and found out that on one of my favorite blogs, Peacoats and Plaid, that my blog button is up for an award. Bre from Peacoats and Plaid is hosting a Blog Button Design Battle and my blog button is in this round being voted on. If you could swing by and cast a vote for me, I would totally appreciate it and thank you for that. Please click here to do so!!
Now onto my regularly scheduled life. Last weekend, it was a bit of a rainout, even though it was indeed Memorial Day Weekend. Someone actually joked that it felt more like Thanksgiving then the official start to the summer with temperatures around 45 degrees, rain and wind. Sunday, the sun did come out, but still chilly and a bit windy. This didn’t stop us from going out to dinner with the girls to Zim Zari for a nice California/Mexican meal.
Finally, Monday was around 70 degrees, but still breezy. We took the girls to a parade for Memorial Day that morning and got to see some old hot rod cars being driven through, as well as local school teams, girl scouts and cub scouts, too. And then later that day, we had a barbecue with Kevin’s family, where all the grandkids got to play outdoors and the adults got to enjoy the good eats and company.
Tuesday, it was back to reality. And rain yet again returned. That afternoon the old saying when it rains it pours truly took form. First, I was buckling Emma into her booster seat picking her up from pre-school and her car door got hit by a car pulling away. And that evening, we had a huge leak in our bathroom, too.
Thankfully, the accident was not my fault and the car is at the body shop being fixed. Our insurance will cover all, but the deductible and the other driver’s insurance will be covering the deductible it appears, because it was deemed her fault.
The ironic thing is that the other women was picking up her grandson from school, just so happened to be one of Kevin’s sisters teacher back int he day and knew my in-laws well. Small world, I suppose.
And as for the bathroom leak, it was something thankfully easily and cheaply fixed (thank god). But our rugs are still drying out a bit as I write this.
As for the weather, it went from 45 degrees last weekend, to just about 90 at the end of this week. Seriously there is no happy medium, but will gladly take 90 degrees over 45 degrees any day of the week!!
And for all you summertime smoothly drinkers, please click here for my last bi-weekly contributing posts on The Mommy Blog Hoppers for some delicious recipes to tempt your taste buds. and for those, who love Jamba Juice Smoothies, to celebrate Summer, they are running a BOGO promotion that is you buy one smoothie, you get one free. However, I cannot start enjoying this weekend until dance class is over for both my girls. We also have a one hour rehearsal on Sunday for the girls recital, which is next weekend!

We're in the same boat over here with the crazy weather. We had our heat on last weekend an now it's only 10 am here and it's already 90 degrees and the AC's are on full blast. No wonder I have a cold LOL.
Janine Huldie says
Yup, same here Robin and really is quite crazy. A week ago it felt like we could celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey and the trimmings and today it feels like we could lay out on the beach. Seriously insane!! π
Kera says
In that photo of Emma and Lily, with their hair both in pig tails, they look like twins! Have a fantastic weekend mama…it's going to be nice! Voted for you, too π

You totally were Lanaya and wouldn't have it any other way!! It is right 90 degrees today. So we literally went from 45 degrees a week ago to 90 degrees. That is double the temperature in one week's time. Crazy indeed!! And thank you for the vote…totally appreciate it. Have a great weekend now!! π xoxo
