It has been some time since I last joined in with Elaine of The Miss Elaine-ous Life for Old School Blogging, but I saw her post and also Rabia’s of The Liebers and couldn’t resist joining in for some good old fashioned Old School Blogging this month with the ABCs of Me.
So sit back, be schooled with the ABCs of Me and next time won’t you sing with me. As I would love for you to join so I can learn more about you, as well!
A- Age: 38. Although, if you are my mother reading this, you are shaking your head as to why I have actually divulged my real age. But to learn more about how old I am really am, see this post.
B- Biggest Fear: As a kid, I always had these weird and terrible nightmares of driving over a bridge and falling off only to plunge to my apparent death. So, if I have to say one fear in my younger days, it would be this. But as a parent, I am also not a fan of puking and can read all about that here.
C- Current Time: 9:17 on Thursday night.
D- Drink you last had: Water with slices of lime in my brand new tumbler cup I received as swag from having breakfast at the Rainbow Room this past week as a guest of Today Parenting Team to discuss how to stop mom judging as a contributor to their site.
E- Easiest Person To Talk to: My husband, as he does mostly get me and even gives play to all my crazy thoughts daily (thanks for that and more!).
F- Favorite Song: Hey Bulldog by The Beatles (Classic and could not love The Beatles more if I tried.) and my idol Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters (finally got to see him this past summer at Citi Field in concert during the Broken Leg Tour) covered it, which only made it that much sweeter for me.
G- Grossest Memory: The first time we had to give our older daughter her first bath. Let’s just say if you didn’t read about it here, it really was 50 Shades of Poop and than some!
H- Hometown: New York, NY! Seriously, I just so happened to born and raised in the greatest city that never sleeps and definitely appropriate as I haven’t been a great sleeper for years now. But still, proud to be a New Yorker and always will be, even when my New York big mouth gets me in trouble, such as being in Disney and being outed once I opened my mouth to a security guard in a torrential rainstorm. Yup, you can take the the girl out of NY, but not the NY out of this girl ever!
I- In love with: My husband and girls always…
Daddy and His Girls!J- Jealous Of: People who can sing and carry a tune, because even though I do love to sing, still somewhere when I do try to belt out my favorites, a dog is crying!
K- Killed Someone? As much as I have wanted to, not a violent person. So, nope and never!
L- Longest Relationship: My husband – over 13 years strong still!
M- Middle Name: Louise, as this was my mother’s grandmother’s name. From all I hear, she was a saint and absolutely a wonderful woman, so I am even after all these years blessed and honored to carry on her name.
N- Number of Siblings: One brother, who is 6 years younger than me.
O- One Wish: To be more patient.
P- Person who you last called: My husband, who I spoke to at work today.
Q- Question you’re always asked: “How old are you really?” Seriously, thank god for good genes as most don’t think I am more than my mid 20s even as I am heading to 40! Thanks Mom for your youthful DNA!
R- Reason to smile: Again my husband and kids!!
S- Song you last sang: “Castaway by Zac Brown Band” as I am still summer dreaming after seeing them also in concert at Citi Field this past summer, too!
T- Time you woke up: Just about 7 am as it is a school day for both my girls and now having to get all ready and on the school bus for the day…
U- Underwear Color: Pink Victoria Secret Lace Yoga Thong. (Guess this girl doesn’t have much of a secret going on now!)
V- Vacation Destination: Disney World – Orlando Florida – I know we just came back last month, but pretty much convinced my husband to return next year for our 10 year wedding anniversary.
W- Worst Habit: Cracking my knuckles.
X- X-rays you’ve had: Multiple sonograms for both pregnancies and teeth x-rays at my annual checkups.
Y- Your favorite food: Anything with shrimp in it.
Z- Zodiac Sign: Gemini. That’s right I am a twin totally and have my fair share of indecisiveness with trouble making my mind up, because very often the twin sign is so very strong here. If as far back as when I was a little girl, my mom still tells the story of how I asked for a glass of milk, only to tell her as she brought it to me that I didn’t even like milk and wasn’t sure why I asked for it!

We;ve gone to Disney for the last 6 years. It’s the best vacation ever.
Janine says
I know you have and think I may be rivaling you soon as I now couldn’t love it more if I tried. My husband is in trouble as far vacations are concerned, because I am now a bit of an addict LOL 😉
Bev says
People always think I’m way younger than I am also. Last night someone thought I was 24! I don’t think I look quite *that* young 😉
The Foo Fighters are amazing live — I’ve seen them twice. Definitely one of my favorite bands to see in concert.
Janine says
After finally getting to meet you Bev and completely concur that you also look younger than your age. And I know Foo Fighters really just put on a amazing concert 😉

Tamara says
Ooh, sexy underwear! Love that. And I love your real age and real everything!
7:00am doesn’t seem like a bad time to wake up. Des got up at 6:50 today but I scratched his back and bought us another half hour.
Janine says
7 am really isn’t terrible, but the other morning I was up by 5 am to go to NYC and was exhausted by 3 pm that day! Sad but true 😉
Leslie says
So many great answers! I think it’s really funny that most of us have answered that our grossest moments are related to our kids’ pooping incidents. That stuff is pretty nasty (and abundant!), isn’t it?
Janine says
It really is and got to admit before kids I didn’t know gross at all!! 😉
April says
A lace yoga thong? I really haven’t been in Victorias Secret in a long time. I love shrimp! Husband made shrimp fried rice on Wednesday. Delicious!
Janine says
April, I love shrimp fried rice and now I want to get some for dinner tonight 😉
Bill says
Just got back from Seattle, so sorry I’m late for the party. Thanks for sharing a little bit more about you. I love your favorite song…..I figured it would be the Beatles but not that particular song. 🙂 Have a great weekend, Janine.
Janine says
Aw, Bill I knew you had to be out when I didn’t see you this morning, but always so happy when you stop by. I love that you knows love for The Beatles, but smiling still that I stumped you on the exact one I would pick. Have wonderful weekend now, too 😉
Kristen Miller Hewitt says

Nicole DeSimone Johnson says
Interesting to learn more about you. I’m not a New Yorker, but I went to Hofstra for undergrad so I have a special spot in my heart for NY.
Confessions of A Mommyaholic says
Nicole, Hofstra is about 20 minutes west of where I live now and loved learning that in return about you, too
Kristen says
Congrats on the TODAY Parenting team – and I LOVED learning more about you! You can’t sing? Your dog’s pic is PRICELESS!
Janine says
Aw, thank you so much Kristen and sadly though no I can’t sing at all! 😉
Rea says
Fun post! You look younger than your age most definitely!
I totally LOVE anything with shrimps in it. GOOD that I’m not allergic.

Janine says
Aw, thanks Rea and if we ever get to meet we have to get shrimp for sure 😉
Diane Roark says
Janine,
I love reading all about you. I learned a few things. I too have always had a fear of running off a bridge and drowning just before an alligator eats me. Remember, I am from south Alabama and also lived in the New Orleans area. We had alligators everywhere. BOO!!
Seriously, I enjoyed your post very much!
Many Blessings for a great rest of the weekend!
Diane
Janine says
Aw, Diane alligators and bridges definitely would give me the creeps! But still glad that you learned more about me and enjoyed my post, too! 🙂
Kristi Campbell says
I’m so old but just this week, somebody thought I was younger than I was and it made me so happy so please take it!!! And I love that you and Kevin have such a great talking relationship after all these years. And OMG such huge congratulations to you about the Today Show – So proud of you!!! Janine says
Aw, thanks Dara. I know crazy, right??
Nellie @ Brooklyn Active Mama says
I am soooo curious about what you said to the security guard with your New York attitude! lol! I loved these A-Zs — so much fun!
Janine says
Long story short, it was during a thunderstorm and was told by security at Epcot that I had to put my flip flops on as you can’t be barefoot on Disney grounds. Ps I had more traction with barefoot and firmly stated that including that of I were to fall it could be worse for Disney! But was a bit more forceful in my wording and execution LOL!
Aunt Gloria says
So much fun to go through your ABCs Nice tribute to all. Love……xxoo
Janine says
Aw, thanks so much, Aunt Gloria. Love you too xoxo
Julie @ Running in a Skirt says
