The Summer Sizzle: A List of the Most Popular Water Toys of 2013

Filed Under: Guest Post, Sponsored Posts Tagged With: Popular, Summer, Water toys

Recently, I was approached by a few different bloggers to have them author articles for summertime on my blog. I will be honest and tell you my first thought was a could get a break from writing my own articles and catch up a bit on my own writing and design work. Also, I love the summertime and my family does too.  We have had loads of fun over the years, even way back to our first summer as parents with the pool and water time fun!!

Summertime Pool Fun with Emma and Kevin–2010

Today’s article is one of those articles and must say I learned quite a lot from this article that Missy Pitney authored and definitely have some food for thought on what to possibly buy for my girls as the weather is heating up now.  Thanks so much Missy and please read on for some wonderful advice and tips on the year’s popular water toys. pinkfade When the heat hits, it’s time for some splish, splash fun in the sun! What better place to entertain the kids than in the comfort of your own backyard? When you hear laughter and screams of delight this summer, I can bet there will be a water toy near by. Traditional favorites like water slides and water guns have been reinvented into bigger and better toys than ever before! Here’s a list of the most popular water toys for this summer 2013!

Pools

The first on our list of “must have” water toys are backyard swimming pools. Since nothing is better than a crisp dip on a scorching summer day, a pool is the perfect way to ensure that everyone gets wet! The youngsters can snorkel, dive and float from sun up to sun down. What is nice about many of these pools is that they are easy to setup up and tear down.

Designed for all types of layouts, one of these is bound to meet the needs of your kiddies.

Who doesn’t enjoy the thrill of a chase? With these sprinkler and water gun spray toys, the kids can enjoy dodging and ducking from bolting sprays all day long. Kids have just as much fun running from unanticipated squirts as they would in a full size swimming pool.  Spray toys are exciting, adventurous and, best of all, they come in all shapes and sizes that your kids will love!

Games

Everyone loves games, but not everyone likes the same type of game. There are millions of age appropriate water games to add to your summer fun list this year. Maybe your child is a dive and retrieve sort, or maybe an “on land” battle with balloons or perhaps a waterlogged game of basketball. Whatever their interest may be, there’s sure to be a game to suit them.

Today’s Post was written by Missy Pitney.  Missy Pitney’s favorite time of year is summer and loves spending time out in the sun! She can’t wait to have children of her own, and then she’ll have an excuse to play with toys. When not being active outdoors you will find her in the gym, with friends, or stuck to the computer screen.

We have a slip & slide, a sprinkler and some super soakers. I am lucky enough to live only a few minutes from cape cod and we have the beach only a few minutes away, so we end up in the ocean more than anything.

we have plastic pool, but that pool is super cool though.Dino loves to hang out in the pool despite the dirt that gets in the pool. I have never thought about super soakers, I bet Anthony would love to run around with a water gun and soak his mommy….I need to cool down with all these hot flashes anyway.

I'm definitely pinning this so I can refer back to it when I want to make a purchase! Thanks so much for sharing :o)

Ahh that water slide is awesome! Summer days playing outside or in the pool were the best. I miss that carefree kind of life! But it's fun to be able to recreate the fun now with Sofia. I agree with you on saying yes to either good sponsored posts or guest posts by other bloggers to help out with the writing load over the summer, since we're always on the go or doing something. Good for you! I need to start looking for bloggers to guest post for me while we're on vacation at the end of July and for when the baby arrives.

Yeah, anything that squirts water is a favorite at our house! (with the kids) It just takes a certain amount of prep time to get into water gear in advance, or worry about it later when they are shivering in regular clothes that got too wet.
