Thanks to Russell Brunson for sponsoring this Traffic Secrets post to help me and countless others to see some blog traffic growth results.
I have learned the hard way as a website owner and blogger that just because you exist doesn’t necessarily mean potential readers or subscribers will find you. There is so much more to it to get eyes on your site. There are traffic secrets to be learned as a website or blog owner.
Even now years into almost 10+ blogging on this very site, I am still learning and enjoy finding new ways to connect to those new eyes. See I started this blog as a way to feel less isolated as a new mom with two babies under the age of 2.

My oldest turns 11 in July and starts middle school this fall. And my baby will be 10 (DOUBLE DIGITS) in November! So, my blog has continually evolved over the years along with my current life.

This everlasting desire for adapting my blog for the times is part of the reason why I was so very excited to get to read Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers.

Because new and exciting changes have been in the works on and off my blog. Not only are my girls growing up, but I took a new full-time job working from home for a website hosting company. So, it is high time I took a good look at my blog and blog followers’ strategy. Moreover, I could not wait to slowly implement some of his strategies from his book on my own site. From the preface alone, the thought of using a strategic, long term model that would ensure a consistent flow of traffic that wouldn’t necessarily dry up if Google or social media networks, such as Facebook stopped sending potential blog followers my way.
One of the major concepts, Russell Brunson explains very early on in his books is about funnels and the key to actually understanding funnels. But website owners need to understand that our traffic is essentially people and people are quite predictable (believe it or not). So, the core strategies that he teaches will outlast and supersede any particular platform. Therefore, these strategies can be applied anywhere. See his approach is an evergreen one and once again doesn’t rely on Google or Facebook algorithms or any other up and coming trend anywhere.
That is because he focuses his book on strategies that don’t change and withstand the test of time. These actions will work even when things inevitably change on social networks, Google, and more.

These tried and true strategies include:
- Identifying your dream customers
- Finding out where they all are hanging out online
- Learning how to work your way in to where they are indeed online
- Also understanding how to buy your way in
- Creating your own publishing platform
- Building your own distribution lists
Some preliminary questions, I asked myself as I began to dive into his book are as follows:
Q: Who is my dream customer on my blog?
A: My dream customers are parents that work from home similar to myself that are trying to do all they can to keep their family happy and healthy physically and mentally, as well.
Q: Where are my dream customers congregating?
A: Possibly Facebook Parenting Groups. But still fleshing this out.
Q: How do I understand my customer, their wants and their needs?
A: My dream customer’s core desire is to improve their family relationships. How so? Because reading my family-friendly articles will help them to achieve this goal.
Major concept to keep in mind:
Be OBSESSED with my customers not my product/service.
Moreover there are 3 Core Markets/Desires when dealing with potential customers:
- Wealth
- Health
- Relationships
Only focus on one market and move away from pain to pleasure for customers.
I am currently working my way through Russell Brunson’s book. So, I hope to implement his strategies here on the blog. It is still very early in my readings and I have a lot to learn still.
