One of my favorite ways to get together with girlfriends is to enjoy a movie night together. I mean what better way to spend time with good friends who have similar likes and preferences than to spend an evening viewing a movie together? Especially this time of the year, when all I want to do is stay indoors and relax watching a great movie, like the . Having friends over to enjoy with me is a plus.
So, I thought I would share here how to indeed host an award-winning movie night for all girlfriends. Without further ado, here is what I come up with so far from my own experiences.
4 Picture Perfect Tips for Hosting the Best Girl’s Night Movie Night
1. Choose the Perfect Girl’s Night Movie
Having your best girl pals over? Then, you want to pick the perfect movie. In this case, I couldn’t resist choosing the . See this movie has it all. First of all, as a huge fan of the original show, I knew this movie needed to be viewed with my girlfriends who also loved the show.
The DVD movie is an expansion from the original series. For those unfamiliar with the Original Downton Abbey show, it followed the lives of the British aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the early twentieth century in the family’s Edwardian country house. It all began with the 1912 sinking of the Titanic, This event left Downton Abbey’s future up in the air, as Lord Grantham’s heirs’ perish aboard the ship. These deaths left him without a male offspring to take over the throne when he dies. Therefore, he needs to search for a new heir. As the original show continues other historical events happen, including the beginning of World War I.
So, the Downton Abbey DVD is once again, in essence, a continuation of this dramatic story. Plus, all the characters that we love are back together!
2. Keep It Comfy, Cozy
That’s right once the movie has indeed been chosen, it makes sense that you would want to make sure to be comfortable while viewing. So make sure to have comfortable seating, as well as even blankets to keep warm and cozy while viewing if need be, as well.

3. Plan for Talk Time.
Before the movie has begun, you may want to chat a bit about your expectations for what you may see in the movie. But also once it is over, no one usually likes to cut and run without talking about what they liked or even thought could have been better with the movie, as well. So, make sure to leave some time to indeed chat before and after the movie.
4. Serve the Right Food
Seeing as this movie night is all about Downton Abbey, as well as British aristocrats, a fun themed dessert treat to enjoy should be served during the movie experience. For this British themed movie, I couldn’t resist indeed serving a Union Jack Flag Fruit Pizza Cake. The Union Jack flag is indeed the flag of Great Britain. So, I love making a fruit cake to resemble the British Union Jack Flag.
