Sometimes you can fight something for only so long before you finally cave and give into it. Well, that is how I felt about not posting something new on Saturdays. But to be honest I am giving in and also giving the public what they seem to want, because the fact remains that I am indeed quite tired, need a break and would also like to spend time with my husband and kids, too.
I mean even God said there should be at least one day to rest. Plus, I have noticed that others don’t truly have the time on Saturdays to always sit and read through a brand new blog post, because they too are either too tired or just busy with their own families.
So, here goes nothing and decided to give the masses what they seem to want with a weekly confessions wrap-up or recap and a chance to either catchup or take a break, also. Without further ado, here is this past week at a glance.
On Monday, I shared my three favorite healthy recipes that I had previously written for Hubpages to help others get in shape for spring time. Not only are they delicious, but good for you. So, if you missed it, click here.
On Tuesday, I featured a bit about lies of omission from my husband, specifically about Emma’s school picture retake. That cat was let out of the bag here.
On Wednesday, as we were nearing Valentine’s Day another Flashback Wordless Wednesday was upon us. And I showcased pictures of my girls from Valentine’s Days past here.
On Thursday, courtesy of Lily, my dad and Kevin some sillies were indeed exposed. To find out the ‘disgusting’ truth click here.
On Friday, yet another Finish the Sentence Friday linkup went live with the sentence to finish being, “I get so frustrated when…”. To linkup if you haven’t or just to find out what indeed does disgust me, click here.
And now that another Saturday is upon us, I hope you too have a wonderful, fun weekend. As much as you can, if you are a mom! And stop by tomorrow for my post Valentine’s Day Love Letter to Kevin. Still yet, stay tuned for the beginning of the upcoming week where I will offer yet another awesome review and giveaway to offer you!!

Janine, I never post on the weekends. I reserve that time for drafting new upcoming posts, or family and "mental break" time! Otherwise I think I'd burn out! You're already posting 5 days a week, Go get a massage, girl! 🙂
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks Vikki and seriously that sounds like heaven right now!! Hope you are having a great weekend now!!
Emily says
So you ARE human after all! Yes, you should be tired and yes, you do need a break — we ALL do!! I rarely post on weekends unless I have something timely or pressing that needs posting. Enjoy your time with Kevin and the girls…that's what weekends are for!
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks Emily and seriously I feel a bit guilty, but I think it is so needed right about now. You too have a great weekend 🙂
Dani Ryan says
I can't do it on the weekends, either. I find 5 posts a week a stretch sometimes, and I'm always in awe that you manage to post on the weekends sometimes, too!!! I've found I've had to let some stuff slip. I just can't keep up!
Have a great weekend!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks for saying that Dani and seriously in awe of what you do come up with for in five days a week. Love you blog and you too have a great weekend!! 🙂
Bill says
I'm not doing my blogs on weekends any longer. In order for me to be fresh for my weekly articles, something has to give. The weekends are for Bev now and I'm fine with that. I'll be cutting back on HP articles starting next week. It has all become too much.,
Janine Huldie says
Bill, I am amazed with all you do. I couldn't do Hub articles and my blog, too. I stopped writing Hubs and have felt a bit guilty, but between my blog and editing and am just so wiped now. I agree that weekend are for our loved ones and keep trying to remind myself this now. Hope you and Bev are having a wonderful one!! 🙂
Cyndi says
just saw this. Yeah…I used to hub all the time but I feel like I need to put my energy on my own site and blog…especially since I'm selling stuff from it! LOL
Janine Huldie says
Same here Cyndi and I honestly am still making money by not even writing. Granted it isn't a ton, but I knew it would never make me rich either!!
Cyndi says
Yes, mental break. Actually I do lesson plans on Saturdays and Sundays I do post, but I do it on Wednesdays while I'm commenting on everybody's Wordless Wednesday. Man, I NEED my weekends, LOL
Janine Huldie says
Oh I hear you Cyndi and with dance on Saturday morning for the girls, I am usually just so done by later on Saturday. That I am realizing I do need this at least on Saturdays!!
Rose A says
Enjoy your weekend! 🙂
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Rose. You too 🙂
Joan Veronica Robert says
Hi Janine, please go and have that rest! You can make it a double one, for you and for me! I still have a lot to do to catch up with my objectives, so I will continue to run! But then I'm not looking after a family as well! Have a good weekend, and I'll see you soon!
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks Joan and hope you can rest a bit, too very soon. Have a great weekend, as well 🙂
The Next Step says
I love this! I'm so sporadic with my posting that it wouldn't make sense for me to do a "wrap up" like this, but I really like yours – it is great to see what I might have missed this week and go to the post I want to read (or read again). Thanks for caving to peer pressure! 😉
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks for saying this. I am truly glad that you do like this and think this does work, because I am always willing to try something, but like to get feedback as to whether it does or doesn't work for those who do follow me. Thanks seriously Lori for the positive feedback!! 🙂
Melanie Chisnall says
This is a great idea Janine! You're writing, keeping it short, wrapping it up, and still giving your readers something to read on Saturday – those that have time to read on the weekends. I'm so glad that you're giving yourself a break…because we all need it. We don't just blog whatever comes into our head. Blogging takes brainpower – and a lot of it. Not only that, we're marketing, reading other blogs, and doing everything else in between during the day. Weekends are meant for family, friends and relaxing. So glad that you found a happy medium here. Happy weekend! 🙂
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks Melanie and I am happy that I finally gave into this, because it really seems to work for all. So, I guess it is a win-win and now a no-brainer!! Hope you are having a great weekend, too 🙂
Kat Biggie says
I think Vikki makes a good point! I don't post new posts on the weekend either. It's my chance to catch up, actually read and comment on other people's blogs, and not burn out! The Mom Connection goes live on Saturdays, but I have to have it submitted by Tuesday night, so it's just a freebie on the weekend! I did enjoy reading your wrap up though!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Alexa and I am starting to realize that it is a time to catch up and not to burn out, because the last few weekends before this one I was truly so done for and also making myself crazy with stats (numbers) that I have no control over. This weekend, I did simply take sometime for me and I do feel it made a difference.
