A backpack is the best, and most convenient way to be prepared for anything while at Walt Disney World. When you’re on vacation you want convenience. Having important items strapped to your back is the simplest, most convenient way to keep access to the things you need while you enjoy time in the parks. Here are some important suggestions for what you should take the time to put in your Disney World park backpack. Below is a printable to help you remember.
The Essentials
If you are a light traveler, you may take pride in only bringing the essentials. However, it would be a shame if you missed any of the common essential items when you go to the park.

To avoid having to waste time going back to the car, or the hotel room, make sure you don’t leave without packing a hat and some sunscreen. You should also have emergency food, sunglasses, and a poncho. Tissues are also a really good idea, especially if you have kids. I also recommend hand sanitizer.
You will want to be carrying cash and keep your ID, park tickets and dining information somewhere on your person if not in your Disney World park backpack. That goes for magic bands, too.
If that seems like a lot, it’s really only half of what you should be bringing into the parks. The positives are that these things are all very lightweight and relatively hassle-free. However, if you are going to have a backpack in the first place, why not use more of its potential. Below are some other items I recommend keeping with you in your Disney World park backpack.
The Extras
Some of the extra things you’d like to have include autograph books, mouse ears, coins for the penny press machine, pins, etc. You should also have some practical items like a stain stick and bug repellent. You really should also bring along an extra jacket, shoes and a charger for your cell phone.

Consult the printable to make sure you have everything you need and don’t leave anything out. You should be able to contain all important things in one backpack, and it should not be difficult for security to check it and send you on your way. If you have a lot of pouches and zippers it can make access to things more convenient. Just have them all open before you get to the security gate and remember to close them all after they check, so you don’t lose anything.

I almost always need a cell phone charger when I’m in Disney! I also carry lots of pin trading things!
Janine says
Definitely, agree about the cell phone charger. Been trying to find a good one though and still searching here.

I think Ionce mentioned that I’ve never seen Disney in person….why would I when I have you as an online guide? 🙂 And I get this for free? Best deal online if you ask me.
Happy Hump Day, my friend!

Like Dara, I do you have a portable charger that I use. I have one for Cassidy too. Otherwise we run out of juice with such long days! Unfortunately, I’m never too lightweight because I need my camera, but my essentials are a poncho and high-protein snacks that are non-perishable.
Janine says
Ponchos are seriously a must, as are the protein snacks, too!! 🙂

I have never been to Walt Disney World, but that is on the list soon! This is a fabulous packing list! Portable chargers are a must anywhere right?!
Janine says
They truly are and couldn’t agree more! Thanks Jen 🙂
