We opened the door on sunny, October weekend afternoon to find a bucket with a Halloween themed sign as well as treats inside the container.
My girls were uber excited. They had no idea who left this bucket of Halloween treasures nor did they understand what this meant. But after reading the enclosed printables, they not learned what this meant. But they also got that much more ecstatic.
See they were booed.
This was back almost 5 years ago. Every Halloween since they have been booed and also done this to others, as well now.
If you have school-aged kids, you may know what being booed means. But if you don’t, then read on here to find out more.

To be booed means that someone leaves you a treat. Usually, the treat is a few items Halloween related possibly in a Halloween type bucket or bag.
The person that boos you is a secret. Once you have been booed, it is now your turn to boo someone else.
So, there is usually a printable enclosed for you to hang on your front door to let others know you have been booed. This helps so that you aren’t booed repeatedly.
You also are given another sign that you are to pass on when you boo another person.
See once you get booed, you are to boo someone else, as well. A kind of booing pay it forward.
Here we are with another Halloween, Booing season upon us.
So this year, I had a bit of fun with the items we are including in our Booed bucket for the person we are booing.
We, of course, are including Halloween themed items, such as notepads, pencils, erasers and more.

But we also couldn’t resist a fun edible treat, too. That is where Mini Babybel® Cheese comes into play. See Mini Babybel® Cheese has Halloween cellos with Halloween characters on them.
They were a huge hit when my kids found them at our local Target recently.
They decided they had to include these for booing this year. Plus, I love Mini Babybel® Cheese, because they are 100% real cheese. Plus, right now, you can get 10% off with the Mini Babybel Cartwheel offer that runs 10/7 through early November. So, win-win!
But back to booing. See there are plenty of Booed printables online.
Since I love creating printables, I decided to try my hand at creating fun FREE Booed Printables for us this year, as well.

This the cutest Boo-ing sign I’ve seen, and these cheeses are adorable! I am absolutely buying some at the store today 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Janine!
Janine says
Aw, thank you, Meredith and the Babybel cheese really was such a hit here. So, I couldn’t recommend more 🙂

Hehe…you know, I love those cheeses! I call them “wax cheese” because they’re covered in wax. After eating, much like a kiddo, I love playing with the wax. Hehe.
Wishing you a wonderful October and Halloween season. I love this time of year. It’s one of my favorites. This month and May – when spring has sprung and everything is new and fresh. Hehe.
Sending you big hugs!
Janine says
Aw, I love your name for Babybel cheeses. And I must admit I even play with the wax, too. That is what makes these Halloween themed ones even more fun as the characters are very easy to indeed play with. Agree also that it is a fun time of the year. Sending big hugs right back to you now 🙂
