Flashback Wordless Wednesday #2

For the second week of Flashback Wordless Wednesday, it is the almost the end of January and longing for some much needed warmer weather. I am not a fan of the winter and do love the warm, beach type weather. For that reason, Kevin and I got married in July and went on our honeymoon in the Bahamas. It was truly amazing and I joke many times when things get crazy around here that it is my happy place.

Take a look at a few pictures and I dare you to argue that point with me!!

We got to wake up to this view for 7 days and I swear I think this must be what heaven looks like, at least for me!

The Bluest Water I Have Ever Seen In My LIfe!!

I admit I was amazed and in love with the color of the ocean water.  Being from New York, I had never in my life seen water this blue.

Our Friend!!

Every Morning when the sun rose, we were greeted by our bird friend.  He was so very friendly and would come right up to us.  So, unlike the NYC pigeons I had grow up knowing!

Celebrating!!

One of my favorite pictures of us.  Celebrating by going out to dinner in the evening at a fancy restaurant at the resort.  The food was delicious and the company was definitely so very enjoyable, too!!

Hope you enjoyed our Bahamian Honeymoon, circa Summer 2006.  I will leave you with a funny comment from Lily.  When I was going through my photo album with these pictures printed out, she came across a picture of Kevin and I swimming.  All you saw was Kevin from the waist up with no shirt on, even though his bathing suited lower half was in the water and hidden, Lily said and I quote, “Daddy is naked!!”  Yup, nothing is sacred around here, not even my honeymoon photos!!

    Thanks Julie and we had a few days overcast weather. I had hardly any color and was afraid I would come back looking pasty white and like I hadn't been to the islands. Well, dumb me decided to go without sun block for a bit. 20 minutes later this is what I looked like!! I was never so burnt in my life and even wearing a bra hurt, lol!! 🙂

    OMG, we LOVE The Bahamas! What hotel was this??! We've been twice, and I loved everything about it. My favorite memory was on Valentine's Day. We went for a swanky dinner, and then on our way back to our room we stopped at the hotel bar so I could get a glass of wine. I didn't know if I could take the glass back to our room, and when I asked the bartender she looked at me with THAT LOOK and said, "you in The Bahamas, baby, you can do whatever you want". I almost kissed her.

    Thanks for the Wednesday morning memory!

      My pleasure and we actually got room service that we didn't order delivered to our door at 3 am in the morning on this trip and was told similar when we said it wasn't ours (we are too honest for our own good!!). This was Sandals and loved the all-inclusive package–amazing!! Would love to go back and go to Atlantis and see what that is all about 🙂

    Oh wow Janine! Now I know how you feel when I post pictures of the beach here, lol! So beautiful, I'm jealous! I've never been to an island. But seeing your pictures, at least made me feel like I was sort of there…well, a mini mind cation for this afternoon anyway! Thanks so much for sharing. I can understand why you'd want to go back! 🙂

    Oh man… this makes me remember our trip to the Bahamas back in 2008. We went with a couple of friends and it was the ultimate blast. And like you said – I have never seen water so completely blue. It truly was like a piece of heaven!

      Oh I know I just ran out for my weekly chiropractor appointment. Nothing says cold like cold massage cream for upper back massage. Yes a massage is a massage, but seriously too damn cold for just about anything right now!! I want to go to the Bahamas now, too!! 🙂

    Thanks Kelly and if you ever do come back to NY, I would totally love to meet up with you this time out. Hopefully no more hurricanes come our way to spoil that one. As for Lily, I seriously can't even begin. My dad even said again today that she is just so on the ball. We are going to have our hands full with this one, lol!! 🙂

    I must know what resort this was? Not that I have money or time for a vacation anytime soon, but this looks like one to visit when I do someday! PS – Nudity is frequent around our house as I'm surrounded by all boys, but good to know girls take note as well!

      Kelly, it was Sandal Royal Bahamian. We loved it and it was truly so worth the all-inclusive price tag. Oh, nudity is not only a boy thing, because Emma has been known to sing "Naked Baby" as she is getting in and out of the tub. Seriously, my kids just crack me up sometimes, lol 🙂
